We parked in a handy spot just off the A7 at the start of the access road to Rigfoot. Walked up this road and from above Rigfoot itself took an ATV track through the legions of freshly planted conifers until about two-thirds the way up Roughbank Height. From here it's a plod through new plantation, heather and bracken, aided occasionally by trods. A similar story to Broad Head, with an ATV section to ease the knees. Onwards to the more straightforward Blackgrain Height, Faw Side and Rashiegrain Height then a detour northwards from the main ridge to take in Causewaygrain Head. From this point the ATV tracks run out and so it was a knee-deep wade & trudge through wet humpy veg all the way to White Hope Edge and back - not one for the uncommitted bagger! Once back at Rashiegrain Height things got relatively easy as its a mere fence follow to Pikethaw Hill, Frodaw Height, Dan's Hags and Stibbiegill Head, before dropping down to Meikledale and the joys of a tarmac finish. 6 hours total.summitter23/10/2023
From Pikethaw Hill. Along faint ATV track a little distance from the fence. Increasingly faint after the tall mast on Corbie Shank. Descended improving ATV track to 363405. Then followed good forest trails to Merrylaw and tarmac road to car at 377022. KeithByTheC07/09/2023
From Merry Law following the boundary fence. Tough going pleased to get here.Andrew Simmons27/01/2022
Drove forest roads to NY 3469 9929, break still good despite all clear felled round here. Planned to use the other track, closer to summit, but it's not navigable.jonglew01/02/2021
From MerryLaw. After a couple of wrong choices went straight up a narrow planting track from high point of main track a bit N of Mid Cleuch. A short hellish section to cross the fence and easily up to the top on pasture.chrisbien21/09/2020
Last top in this area, from Greensykes bothy, partly along the watershed, which gets no easier.Colin Crawford07/02/2019
Two car linear walk with mae, Loch Tima to Jamestown. 13 hills, 9.5 hours. Very heavy going on ungrazed vegetation. No tree problems encountered (except where we diverted from route to utilise forest roads).jimbloomer27/09/2017
With Faw Side. Drove in via Bush and Burngrains, no obvious parking until NY343944 just before forest gate. Few passing places but decent track. Boggy ATV track follows fenceline.RHW29/03/2014
From Pikethaw Hill, lots of heather.agentmancuso02/06/2012
