From the parking area to the N at the start of the forestry road. Over some wooden fencing and onto trods/ATV ruts to the top of Mountbenger Law. Then NE to a deer fence with another wooden section to aid its climbing, over a new timber extraction road and up an ATV track between new planting to Paddock Slack. Back down to extraction road and W through a gate. Then picked our way down through new plantings to the forest road below and the car. | summitter | 24/11/2023 |
From Yarrow, parking roadside verge just E of bridge (NT 3602 2797). Good track most of the way up to Peatshank Head, then followed fenceline across to Glengaber Hill, Welshie Law and Curly Cairn. From there took a direct line across to here cutting across the head of Black Grain, through a new conifer plantation, ground not too bad following drainage channels, but easily the more awkward section of the walk. The return necessitated a steep descent through new plantings and rough soggy ground to pick up the good track SW side of Blackgrain Rig at NT 3321 2839 for an easy ride back. Overall a pleasant 8.75mile round. | jonglew | 09/11/2022 |

From forest track to gate/stile (fb a thing of the past) then followed fence out and back to Glangaber Hill over Welshie Law. Deer fences (stile where needed and electric fence mean you need to be right side). Returned by Paddock Slack following fence. Again stile and track back to car rather than fight through deforested area. | SS | 10/11/2019 |
