From NNE, mapped tracks to forest edge then SSW to heathery summit, not bad ground, a little boggy in placesRHW25/11/2018

From access at Coed Llyn Rhiw to the North -on the South shores of Lake Vyrnwy. The tracks are clear and height soon gained. There is a bulldozed track through to the forest upper edge and a gate which gives easy access to the open moor. Generally quite easy going and some views of the lake. Top section more heathery but nowhere as bad as feared. Summit unmarked but is quite a spot. Almost tempted to spend a clear sky night up here. At this point I had intended to head back. But for some daft reason I decided to head on over to the trig point.stig_nest08/09/2016
Parked at 974214 before completing a circular walk of Bryn Mawr, Bryn Glas, Carreg y Big, Moel Llygoed, Mynydd Coch East Top and Mynydd St John. The ground was a little damp in places but access was straightforward. Descending due north from the last summit I came across a gate into the forest that wasn't marked on the map.JohnStoneham10/11/2013
