Last hill of Waun Fach final Welsh Marilyn circuit, with Richard, Alec and Tony J. Weather suddenly cleared and the ridge glowed in wintry afternoon sun. Trig at HP. Parking at SO234229- small carpark at bend in road.Denise 08/02/2022
Final hill of the Waun Fach horseshoe with Tony, Alex, James and Denise. A fine day out with some good views despite the overcast skies.RichardM08/02/2022
Started in Grwyne Fawr Valley, circular walk. Drizzle and then heavy rain just as we reached the summit! So not so great views until we were lower down and the rain stopped. Fabulous autumnal colours.Breinholt29/10/2021

20 mile Waun Fach round, parked at Pont Cadwgan with no issue, started at Crug Mawr and walked anticlockwise along the the obvious route. A tough route but rewarding, and definitely better this way around I think!JazDisney12/06/2021

No summit but skirted summit on the Black Mountains OMM visiting a high sheepfold checkpoint, at a run with Darren heading into the teeth of blasting heavy snow showers in a numbing strong north wind. Cold winds and sun was the forecast, no showers ! Very atmospheric whilst it lasted for half an hour.Chris Pearson27/10/2018

From small parking area at SO 23425 20266 near Llanbedr - Crug Hywel - Pen Cerrig-calch - Pen Allt-mawr - Pen Twyn Glas - Mynydd Llysiau - Pen Trumau - Waun Fach - Pen y Gadair Fawr - Pen Twyn Mawr - Crug Mawr. Clear paths throughout except on Waun Fach summit plateau. Would be rather boggy between Waun Fach & Pen y Gadair Fawr during a wet spell.david23020110/09/2014
Castle Inn, Waun Fach, Pen y Gadair Fawr, Pen Twyn Mawr, Crug Mawr, Llanbedr. Kind of by accident as I couldn't find earlier descents after Pen Twyn Mawr. Pub at Llanbedr doesn't open til 7 weekdays.squeegs22/07/2014

Circular walk from Partrishow Church (parking 100m SW church). Returned via Blaen-yr-henbant and Hen-bant-fawr for a 7.5mile round trip. Must be one of the best places to view most of the Black Mountains peaks.jonglew01/03/2014

Started at the car park just below Patrishow Church which is worth a visit if you have time. Followed the Beacon's Way up to Crug Mawr and then on to Pen Twyn Mawr and then back the same way. Not a super exciting walk.islamidget09/09/2012
From Forestry Commision car park near Cadwgan, up through the woods to the west onto the ridge and Crug Mawr. Tracks better than OS shown footpaths. Recce for a scout event later in the year. Solorichard6928/04/2012
