| First I climbed Garreg Lwyd (616m) and trigpoint, the onto Foel Fraith (602m). From there I took a detour to Carn Fadog (512m). Then onto the highest and most outlying summit for today, Garreg Las (635m) and then onto the trigpoint and summit which lies beyond, Carreg Yr Ogof, a beautiful spot. Time was getting on but I managed to include Cefn y Cylchau (556m) on the way back and a fairly direct route back to Herberts Quarry allowed me to finish in daylight. | 23 mile 3213ft walk, start at Dan Yr Ogof Show Caves Camp Site, follow track NW from campsite to Afon Giedd the west accross moor to Afon Twrch then SW up to Carn Fadog then south down old Tramway to dissussed Lime Kilns follow river to bridge then east along briddleway to Nant-gwinau Bridge follow bridleway NE to Cribarth and Trig Point and return North to track back to Dan Yr Ogof. | stephenbuda | 22/04/2022 |
