Logged Descriptions  (logged by 38 users)ByDate of Ascent
Drove down the narrow road to near to the start of the track at Spout Gill. Barely drivable really. Along the track and eventually a heather bash up to the summit off to the right.clivevilla20/03/2024
As Fisky Boy.At end of track a green way leads to a gate, then a path by wall passes a ruined shooting house, gaining height easily. Finally some heather across to summit.catman23/06/2021
Via track east of tarn then followed fence. Dry underfoot and relatively easy walking. On to Tarn Seat.Wycombe Wanderer19/06/2021
From SW, quad track then intermittent tussock and heather, interesting scree exposures, nice walk on a sunny breezy morningRHW31/05/2020
Parked at Oxnop Beck Head walking along minor road to Spout Gill, then taking track to Ned Gate and beyond crossing the wall at one of numerous stiles, before some heather to the summit.Fisky Boy13/05/2019

Started at the cattle grid and walked along the fence to the top of Tarn Sear. Then went to the Tarn and came back via Bleabarfjohnjennison08/10/2016
With Jo, from Oxnop Beck Head past Satron Tarn onto Blea Barf (wall stile at SD 95205 96347), returning over old mine workings to Oxnop Scar Top. Weather; sunny, warm, light breeze with good visibility.amblerbob19/07/2016
Whilst parking at the cattle grid above Summer Lodge is the obvious place to start, this still involves 1100 feet of climbing! The grid is at 1568 feet but makes an alarming drop down to 1100 feet when it crosses the river ... height you have to make up on both the ascent and the return to the car!!moorsman18/06/2014
Parked at the cattle grid on the road between Askrigg and Low Whita, then followed fence to summit of Conny Tammy Currack before heading over to Blea Barf. Summer Lodge Tarn is a great lunch spot, loads of birds to watch. We headed down to the track close to Summer lodge before heading back up to the road. Clear day, walked with Graham and Ruben.karencooke27/07/2013
From parking spot near cattle grid at 965 941. Over to Tarn Seat first to beacon, Summer Lodge Tarn, and on to Blea Barf. Walked back across to Summer Lodge Moor, then along road back to start. Warm and sunny. Some rough going/heather bashing.PaulH06/07/2013
Started from minor road above Oxnop Scar to the SW. Fairly easy plod if you contour round to the left following old mining debris and minor bumps. Superb cairn built on a rock, but highest point appears to be about 30m to W from cairn.Aye Jimmy02/05/2013
