quick up and down, as others from bike shop before it opened | matty1971b | 23/12/2023 |
Parked in bike shop car park, straight up nose of South End on an MTB trail. | jonglew | 29/12/2022 |
Straightforward from bike hub (customer parking only but was closed). Up grass, through pines, took path on left to summit. | Wycombe Wanderer | 17/10/2022 |
Copied Peter41c and it worked perfectly. | clivevilla | 15/09/2022 |
Used PROW from south and followed a range of paths and mountain bike trails to summit. I suspect the most efficeient parking might be at the mountain bike center and cafe at the SW end of the ridge. | cjo | 11/06/2022 |
From fp to west. Parked to south at crest of hill. Followed fp and then up through Walkers Plantation which leads to a good steep track and onto summit ridge. | Campbell Singer | 28/01/2022 |
5 of 5 on 22 mile bike ride. Started down at the farm on public footpaths till I reached the wooded area that was private but took the chance and pushed up the steep hill. At the other side the hill got even steeper and so overgrown with fern. Once eventually reached the top the off-road ascent down was pretty awesome. Best bit of the ride | The-Z-Man | 18/07/2021 |
Woodland is marked no public access. Best way to avoid this is to start from gate at 726048, head up through fields to gate at field corner 724052 and take clear track to summit field. Gate doesn't open so need to climb over wooden fence to get into field. | peter4lc | 07/04/2021 |

A pleasant hill with a nice view. I went down the edge path to the north and then the steep path down westwards from it. At the bottom of this steep path the gate is to the right (I went off leftwards by mistake). | Alan Moore | 03/09/2020 |
Parked by houses and followed bridleway then hidden footpath to top. Was told by a local lady there was no access to top as private, but no barrier to suggest this. | Argentum66 | 24/10/2019 |
From FP to S. Easily thru' open wood to open access land and feint path to top | carole engel | 26/12/2018 |
Revisit to take photo. Local farmers and all connected with area call this hill Fairy Call Hill.
Good parking alongside the postbox in the wall of the cottages to the west end of the footpath running south of the hill. Go through the field and once you reach the trees head straight upwards through them on an easy clearing. Access through top wall then follow the path initially to the left. This circles the hill for about 200m before meeting a path upwards. 2 gates give access to the summit side of the wall. | moorsman | 18/11/2018 |
Up the green lane, right to the forest, follow the path for a bit then double back near as you reach the top. Through the woods and there’s the bracken-y summit. | mrs_ts7 | 27/08/2018 |
Little Fry up Dale is a gorgeous name and it's a lovely valley with this easterly ridge a particularly attractive profile. From the gath below the SW end at the col, initially along ROW SE under the woodland but then up through the private woodland and up round the left, west flank and steeply up the side to the summit. | vegibagger | 21/04/2018 |
With Jo, from Slate Hill House: Heads and then Danby Moor trig. Weather; sunny, warm, good visibility. | amblerbob | 20/08/2015 |
Parked at junction west of cattle grid. On road past Stonebeck Gate Farm to Fairy Cross and path to south of wood. Track directly north through sparse trees (rough terrain cycle course being built) through wall and up on path through tall bracken steeply up to crags, around these and to ridge wall. Nice hill. | arranc | 26/06/2015 |

From W, RoW then straight up, path partway then bracken & bilberry | RHW | 09/11/2013 |
From the Moors Centre, via a farm (I forget which) and up a bracken-infested track to the access land, and then to the summit. | DanHolme | 31/08/2013 |
Quick up and down. | peebs | 04/04/2013 |
Parked at Stonegate Beck Farm, up road short way then b/w led off. Nice little hill. Wall follows crest of summit ridge. Tiny cairn on one side of wall, rock on other. | Aye Jimmy | 21/03/2013 |
Supervising Gold D of E group -driving around in the minibus meeting them from time to time, giving me time to dart about bagging nearby peaks. I liked this one -steep from fp to summit ridge. | Chris Pearson | 01/04/2012 |
