From Cut Hill using tracks where possible. Onto Hangingstone Hill and back to Fernworthy reservoir on a tough 6 hour circuit.PeterD17/08/2023
From Cut Hill, tussocks/tracks, more of same back E to W end of Fernworthy Resr. Rain started just before I got back to forest road. My last doable hills on hill-bagging in SW England unless I get to any more islandsRHW18/04/2022
From Okehampton - Belstone Tor, East Mill Tor, Steeperton Tor, Hound Tor, Hangingstone Hill, Black Hill, Cut Hill, Brown's House Top, Higher White Tor and Longaford Tor. Camped near the top of Longaford Tor before descending to Princetown from where I added South Hessary Tor while waiting for the bus. 41.5km, much of it boggy, tussocky, pathless toil in unrelenting rain and wind. Highlight was getting the tent up, changing into dry clothes and crawling into my sleeping bag.Herbert Anchovy07/08/2021
A walk into the wild centre of North Dartmoor from Fernworthy Reservoir, through the forest and out to the ruin of Teignhead Head Farm. Then across the wet tussocky moors visiting Hangingstone Hill, Black Hill, Cut Hill and via path by boundary posts to Sittaford Tor. Extremely tough going in many places underfoot – wet and tussocky. 19km with 480m ascent in 5 hours. Solo.silveracorn_alan01/08/2021

One way from Postbridge to Cudliptown, from Hangingstone Hill via Cranmere Pool Letterbox. Sat at the cairn having lunch with a motionless frog for company, and contemplated having just over half of the day's 30k ahead of me still.agentmancuso01/07/2021
Visited on a circular walk to Cranmere Pool. Solo.meltdiceburg16/04/2021
With Jo, from Fernworthy Reservoir: through Forest, past Teignhead Farm to Black Hill, then on past Quintin’s Man to Sittaford Tor and back through Forest. Weather; generally sunny, hot, good visibility. Cool breeze later in day.amblerbob14/09/2020

Dreadful boggy, path less walk south from Hangingstone Hill to the south top, Whitehorse Hill (601m) then across the bog due west up to the summit. Route not recommended! Small tidy cairn. Solo.Dangerous Dave10/06/2017

Oke Tor - Hangingstone Hill - Black Hill - Cut Hill -Black Hill from GR: SX 60091 91134ronaldo33309/03/2017
Combined with a visit to Cranmere Pool (as in Wild Walks) a long way from anywhere where we found postcards left in the letterbox only yesterday to post on to Austria and Germany. A long circular walk on a glorious hot day with Lesley and Flook the dog bounding around in the long grass and occasional green slime swamp. Long walk from cottage near Chagford. Mostly crunchy dry bogs but still sections of frustrating deep grass and tussocks. I was last close to here on the 2012 OMM in rain trying in vain to move quickly through the deep grass and tussocks on Long Score.Chris Pearson14/08/2016
From Cut Hill to this top. Not too bad underfoot but it was dry. East towards Hangingstone is rough for a few hundred yards before picking up a track to Hangingstone Hill. Solo.bolton17/10/2015

Did this on way from Hangingstone Hill to Cut Hill – Very tough going! There is small cairn on the top, but with so many lumps around, couldn’t be sure this is the actual summit. (S)gerrybowes14/03/2015
