Little Hound, Hound, Steeperton and East Mill Tor from Belstone, busy village on a sunny Good Friday, a few folks on the hills | RHW | 15/04/2022 |
From Okehampton - Belstone Tor, East Mill Tor, Steeperton Tor, Hound Tor, Hangingstone Hill, Black Hill, Cut Hill, Brown's House Top, Higher White Tor and Longaford Tor. Camped near the top of Longaford Tor before descending to Princetown from where I added South Hessary Tor while waiting for the bus. 41.5km, much of it boggy, tussocky, pathless toil in unrelenting rain and wind. Highlight was getting the tent up, changing into dry clothes and crawling into my sleeping bag. | Herbert Anchovy | 07/08/2021 |
A circular walk around the NE corner of Dartmoor from South Zeal in a horseshoe around Steeperton Beck returning to Belstone, then back along the quiet road to South Zeal. Peaks visited: Cosdon Hill, Hound Tor, Steeperton Tor and Belstone Tor. Solo. | silveracorn_alan | 31/07/2021 |

Round of 4 Dartmoor hills from South Zeal, this the first then on to Hangingstone Hill. The narrow hollow tracks before reaching the moor were a joy to walk. | jonglew | 23/06/2018 |

An easy solo bag enroute from Cosdon Hill to Steeperton Tor. | bolton | 08/09/2017 |
This lesser known Hound Tor is becoming a regular distant objective as we can walk from the door of the cottage nr Chagford up quiet lanes and an empty moorland path on which Flook can roam freely. We extended our walk to explore and scramble on Wild Tor - back same way on known paths as previous short cuts across the moor had proved heavy tussocky going. Amazingly it never did rain despite a forecast 40% risk of afternoon rain and our bumping into 3 Gold D of E groups, which is normally a dead cert for pouring rain. Later came across a Silver group lower down lost in the grounds of a hotel -having missed the footpath, - there are worse places to get lost I suppose. | Chris Pearson | 09/07/2017 |

Aint nothing but a 495m high P20. | alda | 25/10/2016 |
Last of my 8 English p490-499m hills which is a strange hill category list on hill-bagging being non consistent with the rule for sub-simms and sub-deweys. Surely this should be part of sub-fours, as on haroldstreet, and cover hills 400-499m with p20-29m. Lovely long walk up from east on grassy paths across miles of sunny windy emptiness with Lesley to eat our sandwiches in the shelter of the Tor and to have photo taken with Flook the hound who is a ringer for the Hound of the Baskervilles. Appropriate for Hound Tor. Then back on good dry grassy cattle and horse paths over Kennon Hill a sub-four not listed. | Chris Pearson | 09/08/2016 |
I walked up to do the virtual geocache. | Alancache | 16/03/2016 |

A track exists both to and from Steeperton Tor and Cosdon Hill. Easy walking if you stick to this ... rough fell if you don't! Easy to find on a clear day when you can see well ahead. | moorsman | 19/08/2014 |
