From Ranochan up hydro track then fairly entertaining route up stream line following vague trods back and forwards across stream. Descent to east much easier. Steep section of hydro track is like descending on ball bearings! Note that you dont need to climb the gate, just go round it at the stream.daviemore01/04/2024
Parked in lay-by, west of bridge, on A830. Up hydro track, then feint stalkers path alongside river and pathless ground uphill to summit. Solo.Dangerous Dave28/03/2024
Parked in lay by just west of bridge over Allt an Utha. Walked back over bridge and up forestry track. At end of track, where it dropped to dam, continued ahead on vague deer/stalkers path track along east side of Allt Feith a Chatha to open area and then W up flank of hill on mixed terrain to summit. Cloud base around 700m so limited views. Descent over Sgurr a Mhuide to forest track.MichaelF26/05/2023
Parked up at side of A830 just west of bridge over Allt an Utha and walked back over bridge and up forestry track. From top of track continued along east side of Allt Feith a Chatha before heading west over rough but solid ground to summit. Take a short walk north from cairn for great view down to the remote Loch Beoraid.Jossker19/05/2023
From Drochaidh allt Utha, linked slabby scrambles up the east flank. With Lesley. Didn't continue south to bag Sgurr a Mhuide in order to be down to watch the FA cup semi-final. Unfortunately Man City beat us 3-0. Gorgeous views 5th day in a row.Nick Canute22/04/2023
From S, aided by hydro works track. Walked over to Glas Bheinn E of Glenfinnan to meet Graham, my lift. Not sure these two are ever done together!davechaffey17/03/2023
From Ranochan, verge parking. Climb the gate then up the track almost to end where you see a deer track heading NE uphill following the burn on its SE side. Up to a bump, then a nice little ridge parallel with the ravine, then up to a wide shelf between the burn and Druim Loch Eilt, then cross and follow the E branch of the stream to the lochan directly below the top. All very direct and easy, no need to bother with crossing the main burn low down. Fine hill, good views, one of the better Grahams.Gill30/08/2022
A round of Glas-charn and 4 subsidiary tops nearby. From Ranochan (NM 8207 8213), this the third.jonglew23/04/2022
Up from Ranochan with Ruadh on the new (it’s all relative) track. Smashing views out to Eigg and Muck.JimT08/11/2021
From Sgurr an Utha. Followed the fence posts all the way except took a more northerly line around Sithean Mor. On descent, again followed the fence posts back to the col, then picked up a faint path along the Allt Feith a Chatha back to the main track to the A830.Owen B28/05/2021

Boggy path up the glen, wild hill with lots of up and downs. Returned over Sgurr a'Mhuidhe.douglas_easton24/09/2020
Track and path along the Allt Feith a'Chatha initially, then found route up the hill between rocky outcrops. Frosty day made for easier walking as bogs largely frozen. Stunning views all around.mcbboyd10/11/2019
Fine circuit of 5 summits from NM876817. View to S Uist hills between the Rum & Skye Cuillins.jimbloomer10/11/2019
Took track up to new culvert then old footpath (wet) all the way to fence and followed it as near as damn it to the summit. Complex ground so return same way - excellent views to the isles and down to north.SS10/06/2019
On first day of TGOC 2019. From Lochailort via the lochan speckled moorland to the north of Loch Eilt with Alan, Andy, Phil & David. Showery. Descended east to the Allt Feith a' Chatha and then to the A830.alistairpooler10/05/2019
MC alone. Direct northerly ascent from car park. Difficult weather with top half of hill under storm conditions. Visibility reasonable but consistent rain heavier than some power showers I've stood under! Summit found and immediate retreat.Martin6631/12/2018
Day 1 of TGOC 2018. Long rolling ridge en route to Corryhull bothyalexmaclennan11/05/2018
Standard route from A830. Boggy in both the corrie and on ridges.benalder28419/11/2017

From Ranochan, new hydro road to 210m (GPS). Did not fancy the left bank, especially scramble back up from the ravine crossing at the hydro scheme, so mounted the ridge above the right bank of the Allt Raineachan stream and continued to 400m, then slightly left to cross the stream easily at 480m. From here, a straight channel leads to a minor corrie at 843837 582m, bear slightly right to get to the summit.Topographer5704/05/2017
Up the hydro track from Ranochan for a km or so - not pretty but quick - and very pleasant walk after that using the stream as a guide straight to the summit.dickscroop31/05/2016
From Ranochan up the new hydro scheme track to about 200m then up ridge line to left of burn. A nice hill, wintry weather.jenx26/04/2016
With Jenx from Ronochan, used the scar that is a new hydro scheme up to 250m, then on left stream bank heading direct to top. Several smaller bumps on way. Up and down in 1.44hr.mins. Cold squally snowshowers interspered with warm sun.nordicstar26/04/2016

Solo, from the A830 at 848817. Very steep, head-high bracken, torrential rain and the burns in spate - great fun!amswanston29/08/2014

2 of 3: From Sgurr an Utha.ChrisR24/03/2011
Parked on A830. On track, over locked deer gate, steeply uphill in forest to where it turns uphill. Path with some footprints started here, over a bridge and by strem. Path got fainter in a swampy bealach, where streams ran in 3 directions. Onto grass steeply uphill by craggy outcrops to drop on the other side. Two dips across the route and to top at 12.05. 10 stones in a heap on top of a protruding crag. Muck, Eigg, Rum, S na Ciche, An Stac, Utha, the Ben, Loch Eil, Odhar Mhor, Rois Bheinn and numerous others.arranc31/05/2010

Solo. From car park west of Allt Fèith a’ Chatha on A830 Mallaig road. I went up the track, which replaces the path, on the east side of Allt Fèith a’ Chatha. Where the path shown on the 1976 1:50,000 map crosses a burn this track goes E up the hillside. I followed the original path; this is not very good. At the watershed I went ~W and then up the rather vague NE ridge of Glas-charn to reach the summit. I had succeeded where previously I had failed. Descended S and over Sgùrr a’ Mhuidhe and point 562m.pwbellarby07/04/2002
wet approach, fine summit, best approach from SE, descent E of Doire Neill unproblematic. A830; tk E of Allt Fheithe a Chatha, clockwise RHW03/04/1999
