MC alone. Very blustery day, but dry. From Beasdale along a nice track heading eastwards then direct line to the summit. Rough. Return further along to the west down to a sheep fank. 2hr 10 round trip.Martin6613/03/2024
Train from Lochailort to Beasdale. East along the main road, then along the track to the faint path to the substantial and well constructed sheep fold. Good, clear, steep grassy rake in between heather heading north, then easier gradient north east to the impressive rocky twin summits. Then on to the two Marilyns further east. With BB.Owen B16/02/2024
Up Glen Beasdale to just before bealach before heading N and then W to reach the complex and rocky summit. Continued W across rough ground to pick up the Borrodale 'path' which was very wet and overgrown in places, even in November! Probably better returning by ascent route. Stunning 360 degree views from this one - Inner and Outer Hebrides, Knoydart, Lochaber, Ardgour, Ardnamurchan etc - worth keeping for a clear day.benalder28425/11/2023
Harder than expected but superb views.nicolajane02/11/2023
An anti-clockwise loop heading up Glen Beasdale on a good path before heading North and then West to reach the summit. Descended directly South from the summit and returned via the path to the lay-by on the A830. Lovely to have met Nicola, who had nearly completed a round of the Grahams, on the path in.davezeking02/11/2023
Up from the sheep fold. The bracken on the initial section may prove tough going during season. After that pleasant walking around the outcrops to the top.Worth saving for a clear day as the views are superb.ARM28/10/2023
Glen Bleasedale route. Found a really good deer track up the ridge before the large sheepfold. Easier than expected but rough going at first. Back same way. With Jill.Dangerous Dave24/08/2023
From Borrodale. Path very overgrown with bracken. Left path at 703863 [appx] and meandered up over various lumps to summit. Biting insects abounded, but not midges. Views from summit magnificent. I could even see the hills of South Uist. Descended S flank, which was fine until I reached the area with no escape from bracken, heather and little rocks all mixed up. 4 Grahams to go!IanHHill22/06/2023
From Glen Beasdale. Good path along the glen, although spate conditions on outward journey. Turned N about 600m before Bealach a' Mhama and climbed to approach Sithean Mor summit (in mist) from the east, visiting summit and trig point areas. Camped to N of summit, then continued to Druim Comhnard, and the excellent lower tops of Sgurr Nighean Mhic Choinich NE Top, Sgurr Nighean Mhic Choinich, and Beinn nan Caorach. Return along Glen Beasdale.RobertP18/05/2023
Oarked in the laybyon bend just NE of Beasdale Bridge. Followed the Glen Beasedale path to just past the sheepfold. Headed over initially rough ground onto main slopes then followed the line of grassy gullies towards the summit. Good time of year to do it when no bracken and it was pretty dry, so steep but no difficulties. Near to the summit easy to weave away around the rocky outcrops to the trig and summit.JulieB05/05/2023

From Glean Beasdale path, after about 1km chose a line and headed up. Tough going, when it wasn't bracken it was heather. Found better line down further east. Path itself was OK, less wet than described by others.dickscroop06/09/2022
From the bend in the road to the SW A fine day after a fortnight of grumbly weather.vegibagger06/10/2021
Parked at Borrodale JCT. Up past cottage and along faint track E of river, then up by 2 lochs past large waterfall to trig and on to cairn and summit. Rain and mist most of trip, 245 mins. If climbing this hill again, would go up Glen Beasdale. Day after RHS DinnerCoinneach19/09/2021
Lochailort station - Creag Bhan - Cruach Thoraraidh - Beinn nan Cabar - Sidhean Mor - Beasdale Station - (train) Lochailort station. Bad ground descending to Beasdale path meant that if the train had not been running five minutes late, I would have missed it.Topographer5707/06/2021
After Beinn nan Cabar crossing couple of rugged rocky ridges, plenty exposed rock nearing summit.. My 1400th Marilyn. Great views.N.Morters15/05/2021
Bagged from Borrodale. Parked on the wide grass verge opposite the Borrodale junction, then followed the footpath signposted to Loch Morar alongside the house drive then crossing the lawn to a large gate. Lovely clear path through trees, emerges onto the moor by power lines, joins a wet ATV track, then detour to path by the river for a bridge across side stream; higher up, the path traverses high above the ATV track, rejoins it later, running higher up than the mapped path. Via northernmost of the 2 western lochans using deer tracks, then up the S side of Coire Easan Bhana to the ridge NE of pt 440, side of pt 520 to the trig and the summit a little further on. The summit is interesting, a rocky cockscomb. The rest of the hill is weird, a lot of weaving around bumps and dodging up grassy gullies and it's somewhat, er, boggy and rough.Gill07/05/2021
From Glen Beasdale. Up glen for about 500m then up the slope. Useful deer tracks higher up. 2h30 return.PGCE31/07/2019
From parking spot just out-board of the Armco, adjacent to gate, NM715852 - tricky to get into due to speed of traffic on the improved road. Path up Glen Beasdale starts well, but it's second purpose is a drainage channel. Gradually deteriorates until vanishes at a patch of slabby rock, circa, NM740856. Worked up L to pass just R (E) of knoll at NM738865, then spiralled up L over complex grassy terrain. Very complex top with much rock outcropping - take GPS if misty.Isbjorn16/06/2019
From Beinn nan Cabar - a tricky traverse but luckily dry and sunny today - then a tortuous descent back to Glen Beasdale.Chris Peart09/05/2019
Wendy and I thought this a fine rocky hill and a really great viewpoint as you'd imaginedmckeith17/11/2018

Trip to Eigg cancelled due to wind so climbed this along the Glen Beasdale path (poor in places and lost in bracken for sections). Visited trig and high point.Very gusty wind so just the one hill.NormanW31/07/2018
Sunny, windy day. Up from Borrodale. Visited abandoned village as well. Rounsfell13/05/2018

With Alex C, from A830 layby at NM715850. Weather took a turn for the worse just before we reached the summit!Tony J15/06/2017
Got to the top just as the weather closed in. Five minutes earlier would have been better, though it still was overall an enjoyable experience climbing this hill.Alex C15/06/2017
Difficult to find the track in the beginning. Very overgrown, but found it near railway tunnel. With Jontallblond31/07/2016
Glen Beasdale approach. A nice old track up the glen, then onto more compicated ground to Beinn nan Cabar first then across to Sithean Mor. Howling northerly gale and snow showers made it a bit of a struggle at times. Sure the views must be great.jenx25/04/2016
Used the old track up Glen Beasdale. Complex ground at the col with neighbouring Marilyn Beinn nam Cabar. Snow showwrs in late April with cold winds. Spells of clear sunshine too gave fine views.nordicstar25/04/2016
In retrospect, my final 'Graham'.richtea504002/11/2015

Ascended with Lorraine. Fantastic views of surrounding area including sea views.raffemeister21/04/2014
Parked at start of track/path from A830. Up Glen Beasdale to Beinn nan Cabar then back across to Sidean Mor.AndrewFinnimore18/04/2014
Started from near Borrodale house on track headed NE before picking a route up the side of the hill. Very wet underfoot and the clag came in once I reached the summit to spoil any views.Columba10/08/2013
Views of the Isles, 1 hour round trip, nice runnable descent, rain started just as I drove off :-) RHW07/05/2012
Used track in Glen Beasdale and then more or less straight up the hillside. Descended down to Lochan Feith a'Mhadaidh. Very wet and I don't just mean the loch. Did consider going on to Beinn nan Cabar, but gave up on summit of Sgurr Nighean Mhic ChoinichMartin R11/03/2012
Parked in a dead end caused by the rebuilding of the A830. A signed path to Loch Morar uphill on vehicle tracks through trees for about a mile. On benign tussock across a large swampy area. Summit area had a nasty peat hag drop before the final ascent. Vanessa 9774 at 13.20. Large cairn 150m further on highest spot. Sudden mind blowing view on turning round of the sea and surrounding peaks with heads in clouds. Cuckoo.arranc23/05/2010

Round of Beinn nan Cabar and Sidhean Mor from Glen Bleasdale.Eddie05/02/2005
Solo. I drove to Beasdale, on A830 road. Walked up Glen Beasdale, initially starting near the Beasdale Burn on what I thought was the path. I then joined the path. After a short while I struck up the hillside to reach the summit of Sìdhean Mòr (601m). It was very misty on the highest parts and a little confusing because of several knolls. The trig point is not the highest point. I came down a slightly different way to begin with.pwbellarby23/12/2004
