Parked at Bigert Mire, nice elderly lady allowed me to park at the farm. Pleasant round of 9 hills in exceptionaly cold and clear weather - not a cloud in the sky all day and minimal wind: Bigert -> Stainton Pike -> The Knott -> White Pike -> Rowantree How -> Woodend Height -> Yoadcastle -> Hesk Fell -> The Pike.jonglew29/11/2019
From gate on Woodend Farm road. Slightly boggy ground but no real problem as long as you keep an eye where you are going, This is a fairly insignificant bump. On the way back I was harried by a Horse Fly for the best part of a mile and turned into a human windmill.DC11main18/06/2019

Descending off Woodend towards Devoke Water at end of a circuit. Nice mini-summit with pointed rock and bones(!) on top.Aye Jimmy28/02/2014
If taking in all the hills in the area it makes sense to park alongside the road to the east (by the entrance track to Devoke Water) and start the walk at the summit of the Corney Fell road, making your first hill Stoneside Hill. I took a taxi (Gosforth Taxis) for £20 which enabled me to complete all the hills in a straightforward days outing. With 2 cars it's a doddle.moorsman20/04/2013
With Jo, circular walk from Birker Fell Road: Seat How, Devoke Water, Rowantree How, White Pike, The Knott, Barnscar Settlement, Water Crag. Weather; high intermittent cloud, sunny, intervals, mild, very good visibility at first. By WC weather had deteriorated, became overcast, hail, cold and moderate visibility.amblerbob13/04/2012
