Logged Descriptions  (logged by 48 users)ByDate of Ascent
The descent to the North into Bealach Cumhang is now very difficult as the gentler slopes to the west of the fence have been cleared and a mass of seemingly impenetrable brash. I had to descend to East (R) side of fence on steep slope covered in shoulder height bracken.Ben Rinnes25/07/2023
From the trig. Then came back as far as the col, and down ESE beside a stream. There's a bit of a path in a few places, but not really. And along the Rob Roy Way back to Braeval.Pete R01/10/2022
Traverse of ridge. Unpleasant walking, but great views.thekirkie pirate28/12/2021
From Braeval and back to carpark via Rob Roy WayKevin Murray12/08/2021
With K&M. After faulty start from Braeval CP found the paths up to West Top and on to trig and North Top. Descended to Rob Roy Way via Bealach Cumhang to avoid incoming rain storm. Tall and thick bracken means August not ideal month.lordtonult12/08/2021
Starting at the Braeval car park, near Aberfoyle and tacking the forestry tracks northwest toward the transmitter then up to Craig of Monievreckie West Top. There was a strong northerly wind as I made my way to Craig of Monievreckie proper, then east along the ridge to the North top and finishing on Creag a’ Bhacain. I returned to the car via the John Muir’s Way. Blue skies all day with great views in all directions, 3:30hrs all in.chillyman805/04/2021
Round of West, Main and North tops from Braeval CP. Carried on over rough ground to Bealach Cumhang and returned via Rob Roy Way. First section of Rob Roy Way badly churned up by mountain bikes.TRG31807/12/2020
From main summit - rough and heathery. Gorged myself on blaeberries. Feels like hardly anyone ascends this.sclater29/07/2020
From the Braeval carpark, up through the forest tracks, then via a wee path running alongside the burn up to the two tops of Craig of Monievreckie, then along the Monteith Hills ridge to Creag a' Bhacain. Then down to the Rob Roy Way and back to the car. A pleasant 3hr round on a cloudy afternoon.summitter16/02/2019
4 top round from the braeval cp craig of monievreckie west top, craig of monievreckie, craig of monievreckie north top, creag a bhacain, along ridge and back along rob roy way to cp.robertphillips13/11/2018
From car park on the A81 following green markers and to Dugswell helpful mention of faint path of left 50 metres before sharp left hand bend in track as it crosses the steam. Up this little path through trees and up on to the SW ridge. ThenSW-NE walk along all 4 Summits inc the Marilyn. Very dusk by time I got to the far one at NE end about 5.00pm and 4km walk back along path and track to the south in the dark.vegibagger12/11/2018
