Path up from the west, easier not to shortcut the bends. Back down to east bend then down to and up the Gaoith track.Topographer5715/01/2024
With Minnie from roadside parking, obvious/easy path up & around, few fallen trees to negotiate, another tall monument, no real views through trees, cool breezy & dry.apricorum04/05/2023
From Crieff car park on Turretbank Rd. Along river bank & signposted route to summit. On to Creag na Gaoith, Laggan Hill, Knock of Crieff & Callum's HillLynnebe26/04/2023
Space for 2 cars at base of hill, then good path. must have been very well thought of this bloke.hils25/07/2022
From parking to the west. Two spots on the road were taken so parked by the haylage/silage bales a little down the farm track. Signed footpath to summit. Onwards to Creag na Gaoith.Minto09/10/2021
Circular walk from Crieff. Solo.meltdiceburg12/07/2021
After Creag na Gaoithe. Easy ascent on narrow path.. later found a wider alternative was available. The monument in its rhododendron grove fascinating. Loads of bluebells toofasgadh22/05/2021

From west. No views, but interesting monument.hillsman02/06/2017
Trowan RE to Creiff. Couple of fallen trees to negotiate across the signed ascent path - gap in railings enables a tour of the monument's slippery (when damp) pedestal.Smudge14/11/2016
From the road south of Thornhill Lodge, by the junction with the Trowan track. A good, but overgrown, path, with fallen trees and encroaching rhododendron leads to the huge obelisk to Sir David Baird, commander in Indian, Napoleonic and Cape of Good Hope campaigns. It's now sadly untended and Ozymandian.Nick Down102/10/2016
With Brian Westlake, parking on minor road across from signposted start of track to monument. Easy walk up on good track.jonglew15/04/2016
I may have visited this summit as a kid but can't be certain. Today it was number three of ten in a walk from Crieff. Quite tough going approached from the east.Colin Crawford29/12/2015
P entrance to Monzievaird just across from track. Track to LH then GNG via low point SW of Black Bank. Down to track and track and path to SDBM and back to car.chrisbien01/11/2015
From same A85 layby as Laggan Hill. Track all the way, bit indistinct at the end. Interesting structural movement in the monument. High cloud, mild, good views.iangalbraith30/12/2014
