I have been told the summit is on private land and is no longer accessible. | webmaster | blank |
From due east, over a ladder, short distance along flat track then right up track towards the summit. One strew diversion otherwise OK. True summit is somewhere north of DoBIH summit, within the rhodo infested tangle. | Topographer57 | 29/01/2024 |
Out on the bike, left at the gate. Easy going to near the summit, then mortal combat with rhododendron. | fasgadh | 07/11/2023 |
as others park east lodge, over fence, up through trees to track, visited 3 or 4 highpoints. | robertphillips | 24/11/2017 |
I echo the negative comments of other contributors. After scaling the gate opposite East Lodge I initially gave up, but then found a track which took me near the top, but still much rubbish to be negotiated. My GPS read 10m more than the publicised height. The wood is presently for sale. | NormanW | 31/08/2017 |
Hill #12 of 33 in 21h39 with Rod Munro; reached summit at 07:05. | ajwxyzt | 24/06/2017 |
Bit of a bugger this one. Once you've scaled the gate opposite Duriva East Lodge and found the right track/forest break to near the summit, you've got to duck and dive between rhodies and branches. Did all the high-looking points, but wished i'd brought the machete. | summitter | 23/04/2017 |
The woods contain quite a few more tracks than the map shows. Wall of rhododendrons guarding S side of summit can be bypassed on either side. Visited both undulations beyond them. | Lindsay M | 12/02/2017 |
P East Lodge. Into field then through hole in deer fence. Track up which turned out to be Alan's left fork but from the opposite direction. Found 2 possible tops but who knows which was the higher. | chrisbien | 22/05/2016 |
Thanks for those comments Alan. Unfortunately, I failed to put my hood up and have the scars to remind me | Colin Crawford | 24/11/2015 |
I thought I was going to fail on this one. A track goes into the summit area then splits round the summit, which is covered in rhododendrons. From the left fork it turned out to be possible to stoop along the summit area to the other side. No crawling needed and it's baggable with hood up but I couldn't recommend it. | alda | 12/12/2014 |
