Easy paddle over from Aldochlay, handy free parking and launching spot. Then a simple woodland stroll up to the high point, overgrown rhodie stump | Colin Crawford | 24/07/2018 |
My last tump of the day on a tough 8 hours Kayak hire from Luss, climbing to Inchlonaig's two tops first then heading over to Inchfad to only cap-size in between, after 1 1/2 hrs in the water I reached land on Inchruin, walked around trying to shake off early Hypothermia signs then continued to explore Inchmoan, Inchconnachan and on this island, Tom Nan Clag. Tricky descent through cut Rhododendron debris then beside boundary fence for only field where cattle reside then up through the trees. Top fairly vague but I recorded two high points at 58m, one at NS 36486 91061 & the other at NS 36477 91055. I took track but veered off thinking i could make a short-cut however I got bogged down in a swampy area so had to backtrack. Eventually I reached the Kayak and had no problems paddling back to Luss in smooth conditions. | Dazingdale | 04/10/2017 |
Self-drive boat from Rowardennan, with Rob Woodall et al. Landed on NE side for main summit first then on to this secondary top. Small mound with rhododendron stump at HP. Left the island from a small bay halfway down the E side; on to Inchmoan, Bucinch, Inchcruin and Inchfad before hitting our next tump island, Inchcailloch. | jonglew | 03/06/2017 |
Landed on beach to NE, mostly open woodland to N summit. Rougher descent to saddle, nice woodland ascent to S top 8181, rhododendron stump at hp. Descended E to small jetty. Island #3 of 12 from Rowardennan. | RHW | 03/06/2017 |
