Parked in lay-by 1km North, followed cycleway to North side of the Knap isthmus, skirted Bay and walked up hill from beside a couple of residential caravans. Owner of one chatted and said approach from South might be easier but we scrambled behind some scrap debris behind caravans on to hill. Owner asked if it was a Hump as perhaps previous walkers had mentioned that - I explained the terminology and said it was a Tump. Returned by south side but BWF to cross. Quaint but disappointing hill.willyross12/11/2023
As per Adrian. Route stays well S of scrapyard, views of Castle StalkerRHW22/05/2023
Parked in large layby on A828, then as others walked along cycleway, turning for scrapyard. The highlight of the walk was the coastal scenery. I felt a bit of an intruder in the yard which was deserted. I was glad to achieve the summit and get back on the cycle path.Hirta06/09/2022
As Adrian.. Hill covered in bluebells and primroses.Campbell Singer08/05/2022
With Lesley and Mike. From car park on A828 south-west of Appin House. Southwards along cycle track (former railway) to junction about 9244 4801, then track round south end of Dallens Bay and through gate into scrapyard. Sharp left about 9229 4814 and southwards on rougher track, then diagonally upwards from its end through open wood (and one BWF) to bracken at top. Probable WW2 look-out close to summit. Sunny periods, little view because bracken high. Back down more or less same way, then through scrapyard to end of track by shore. Met scrapyard boss, who recalled his conversation with Gordon Adshead 6½ years earlier. Back to cycle track, then southwards to Castle Stalker jetty and former Appin railway station before returning to car park.mainnirnamfiadh13/09/2021
Covered in tall bracken. Parked in cafe from where a path leads down and then past a “cottage “ then up into the deciduous woodland.Adrian30/06/2021
From the main road, pleasant top despite the lower slopesnordicstar17/04/2018
From lay-by to north. Area below hill is a in use as a boat yard and scrap yard. Unlike earlier log there wasn't anyone around to ask.Swindon Bagger06/03/2017
Walked along from the marina with Colin Crawford to this interesting bracken top near a scrap yard and beside the coast.Dugswell208/06/2015
Walked in from Park to NE, but could have driven to the Marina Jetty. Farmer / Scrap metal dealer at N end of ridge could not have been more helpful. He was tickled pink to hear that his hill is a Tump.GordonAdshead03/04/2015
Pleasantish hill in fine situation with an appalling mess of mangled metal at its base.alda20/03/2015
