Start from Glen Prosen Hostel along pasted the old ruin chapel to 31536696, turn right on to the track up to 32206775. head over to the fence line and the wood, fallen trees everywhere. Followed the fence line East then West to a gap in the trees to reach the top. Descend East to the track and follow it back to the hostel.smocks and denims10/12/2022
Okay hill, until suddenly it wasn't. How I detest windthrow. I didn't spot old cairn or post but in half an hour's desperate thrash over and under fallen trees, I covered all possible contenders. Nasty.Colin Crawford12/07/2022
Tried to approach from north but windfall impenetrable. Circled round to east/southeast where it is possible to wind thru the fallen trees following some muddy patches used by animals or maybe humans, with only a little climbing over/under trees. GPS essential… summit seems to be a small mound, which might be the cairn shown on the 25k, with a fallen tree on it and a wooden post nearby.govanah20/05/2022
Initial animal trails (2 options) visible from fence then a bit of trial and error through fallen trees. Walked right by the large fallen post approaching the 'cairn' but it's obvious once you turn round.Tony S21/11/2020
parked on grass verge next to gate at 354635 the goal, craigs of lethnot, hill of couternach, hill of spott, knachly, balnaboth craig in from the north found the cairn at 32293 67116 a few metres south of the post, down to track and picked up bike from the hostel for cycle back to the car.robertphillips15/12/2019
Lots of windthrow.chalky195329/06/2019
Thought we were going to bag an unlogged hill until we spotted alda's footprints in the snow from the previous day. We didn't fancy tackling the windblown chaos E of the summit and ended up entering the forest from the N (NO32313 67243). Easy enough from there to top (apart from a short final crawl). Heavily vegetated cairn is well hidden under fallen tree with toppled short wooden post on base a few mtrs to N.Lindsay M18/02/2018
Easy track north from the Prosen Hotel, easy field to edge of trees and then mayhem over the fence, a tangled mass of fallen trees and branches. Found a way in from the fence corner to the east but had to make a loop south to get further in. Got to within 20m of the OS spot height and cairn and could not see anything that looked higher but impossible to be sure. Altimeter read 465m, it had been spot on. Would be interested to know if anyone else can find the cairn that is supposed to be there. Lots of lying snow made it easy to find my way out again by following my footprints.alda17/02/2018
