Key to this one is finding the fire break going up from the WNW, this starts at NO 7738 8906 ish on the track to the north and gets you to within 50-60m of the top. Couldn't find it (it's well hidden by trees encroaching at the start), thrashed about for a while, gave up and returned to the track to go up direct from the north. Grim but passed the firebreak on the way to the top so followed it on the way back down. Built small cairn to mark the start.Dave McG08/03/2024
From the track to the north. Didn’t find any paths or fire breaks so horrible thrash through young trees, ditches etc. Got very wet.govanah19/12/2022
From parking area to the east, along Track to north of the hill then Narrow FB to near the top.robertphillips09/11/2022
Weather fair. Note to ones self, don't try and take short cuts when it comes to fir trees, that was very close to what I would call self inflicted torture. I made the mistake of not following the fire break on the way up. You can almost reach the summit along the fire breaks but the last part involves negotiating broken trees, bog and freshly planted fir trees. Good luck .......MountainMac12/04/2021
Not a hill you will want to repeat. I was way off the beaten track amongst the heaps of clear fell devastation debris - the sort of terrain those fuzzy bigfoot videos are usually filmed in in Canada - when I had a shock encounter with a deer hunter. We both felt as though we had landed on Mars and met another human. He kindly agreed to skirt round the hill the other way and assured me I was safe - although memories of the poor mountain biker shot in error by a hunter in France rather came to mind. From east crawling required through trees until I came across a good (if boggy) deer track which in turn led to another churned up deer track and morass to the summit area - and then deer track continued east through the trees to the main track for an easy escape. All in all better than the after school work meeting on the moderation of writing which I had managed to sidestep.Chris Pearson11/03/2020

Had the bike with me so cycled round the forest road until I saw a like trail heading to the top. It got me to within about 50m with then a bit of a struggle through the trees to the summitPilotralph 25/07/2019
Trees are being harvested although summit area consists of young firs and lots of blown timber.hill walker17/02/2019
