Weather fair. | MountainMac | 12/04/2021 |
Solo ascent. I used the track starting at NO786897. There is a lay-by a short distance away towards Stonehaven. The track has not seen any recent use and is initially rather wet. I left the track and headed up to the summit of Craigneil through bracken low down and heather higher up. There was some help from deer tracks. The summit area is covered with heather and rather flat so it was not possible to say where precisely the highest point is. Descent was more or less direct to NO784901 where it is also possible to park. This was not as good a route as the ascent route. In spite of this hill being not far from Stonehaven, I had not been up it before. | pwbellarby | 09/10/2015 |
