Carn Eighe Round from Glen Affric visiting Mam Sodhail, Carn Eighe, Stob Coire Lochan, Beinn Fhionnlaidh, and back to An Socach East Top, and An Socach. Then a long trek back to the car! A splendid walking day. Dry and calm with sunny intervals. 40km with 2200m ascent, taking over 11 hours.silveracorn_alan26/08/2017
Climbed solo. Cycle from Glen Affric Hostel to Allt Coire Ghaidheil bridge. Stalkers path to Bealach Coire Ghaidheil. Rugged but straightforward ridge walk over An Socach N top, An Socach, An Socach W top, Stob Coire na Cloiche, Stob Coire nan Dearcag, Sgurr nan Ceathreamhnan E top to Sgurr nan Ceathreamhnan main summit. The latter is a superlative mountain - vast, complex, remote and with a nice pointy peak! Returned to Bealach Coire na Cloiche, and thence down fine stalkers path to the hostel. Weather was fine with morning mist clearing to give a fine afternoon with far-ranging views from all summits. Caught in a heavy shower on descent around 6pm. Time ~ 8 hours.jamessteel10020/08/2016

Staying with friends at Strawberry Cottage, which belongs to the An Teallach Mountaineering Club. We walked along the track going west to a ruin a little after Allt Coire Ghaidheil had been passed. The ruin is on the south side of the River Affric. Here we struck up the hillside northwards. We turned westwards to go up the nose of An Sornach and then NNW to reach the summit of Am Socach. Continued by going NE over the Corbett Top at 906m to Bealach Coire Ghàidheil, the last part to the Bealach being on a stalkers' path. We went down the stalkers' path, which is to the east of Allt Coire Ghaidheil. Initially this was good, but lower down the path was ruined by vehicle tracks which left the ground wet, muddy and slippery. It had been rather misty, very wet underfoot and with a little drizzly rain.pwbellarby24/10/2006
