With the Winter vehicular access arrangement defunct, had to cycle up to NH226390 and camped near the ford - very cold night. Standard route up to Loch Toll a'Mhuic, but all exits had debris from avalanches or cornice collapse, so went E via Gob a' Chairn, then to Sgurr Fhuar-thuill, Craig Ghorm a'Bhealaich, Sgurr a'Choire Ghlais, down S ridge to col at NH261416, then W over shoulder of Gob a'Chairn to join uptrack. De-camped and cycled back to Inchmore.Isbjorn Winter Round07/03/2022
From the car park at the Glen Strathfarre Sgurr na Ruaidhe, Carn nan Gobhar, Sgurr a Choire Ghlais, Creag Ghorm a Bhealaich, Sgurr Fhuar-thuill and Sgurr na Fearstaig. 15.5 miles, in cloud the whole time and very windy. Exhausting walk, especially having to run the last 4 miles to get out of the park on time.Lazylizzie25/09/2021

A long day in the wilds of Strathfarrar - after clambering out of a frost-covered tent in Roy Bridge at 5am, followed by a 1.5hr drive up to the entrance gate into Glen Strathfarrar, I parked up and cycled the 8miles through the glen to the end point of the (clockwise) munro circuit. Then a 15.5 mile walk with nearly 1700m/ 5500ft of ascent over the four munros, I had a decent dose of the jelly legs by the time I got back to the bike. Another 8 mile ride back out of the glen, and the car was a welcome sight. Great day up on the ridge though - one to remember!mproudfoot27/09/2020

I had planned to climb all four Strath Farrar Munros. I was at the gate into the glen in good time (09:02). I drove up the glen almost as far as the dam and left my bike there. I returned down the glen and headed up Sgurr na Ruaidhe. Although I got off to a good start a tweaked a muscle towards the top of the second Munro - Carn nan Gobhar. I then took it very slowly up the third one (Sgurr a'Choire Ghlais) and then down off it back to the car. I drove up the glen to pick up my bike. I stepped out of the car into a cloud of midges, some of which got inside the car when I loaded the bike into the boot. I was still swatting midges when I reached Inverness - not ideal for driving.langskill04/08/2012

I split the Strathfarrar 6 into 2 walks so no worries about being locked in the glen (or annoying the gatekeeper). From Allt Toll a Bhuic, via the S ridge of Creag Ghorm a'Bhealaich, contouring across onto the ridge between it and Sgurr a'Choire Ghlais from about 200 ft below the summit. Then followed lovely ridge walking and a finish on the splendid Sgurr na Muice. The Marilyn, Beinn na Muice looks really rough from there.pwheeler24/05/2010

The usual clockwise round of the six main Strathfarrar summits with Smithy on an overcast but clear day. Spent too much time lingering & as we had only one car parked near the start, I ran down off the last peak & started half-jogging the road fearing the wrath of the gatekeeper at Struy for rocking up after the 6pm deadline. Nice ladies who had two cars drove up & offered me a lift back up the glen to collect mine - I had run past them on the descent! Picked up Smithy & the three cars arrived at the gate at 6.20 although the gatekeeper didn't seem too bothered... (Again on 31/5/07 with Shaky on a sunny day which we paced better giving us enough time to walk back up the glen for the car & get back to the gate by 6.)NotReallyABagger02/06/2001

From Luipmaldrig bothy onto Sgurr na Cairbe - superb views. Contoured into Coire na Sleagaich and up Carn nan Gobhar, then realised I'd missed Sgurr na Ruaidhe. Went back for it, meanwhile cloud came in and rain came on. Back to sack on Carn nan Gobhar then up Sgurr a' Choire Ghlais in deteriorating conditions. Over Sgurr Fhuar-thuill then long weary descent to camp upstream of Loch na Caoidhe in Glen Orrin.otis_b_flywheel13/06/1999

Staying in chalets at Cannich. With two friends. We had arranged for the key to the gate across the Strath Farrar road to be put under a mat as access is not normally provided on Sunday morning. We left the car just before Loch a’ Mhuillidh. We reached Sgurr na Ruaidhe, Carn nan Gobhar (storm on top), Sgurr a’ Choire Ghlais (worse storm – cold wind, hail, mist), Creag Ghorm a’ Bhealach, Sgurr Fhuar-thuill and Sgurr na Fearstaig. We descended to the road at NH224391.pwbellarby15/05/1983

Feb-Mar 1986 or 1987 Climbed this and its neighbour with Rom, starting from the W end. Had intended to do all 4, but we were terribly snow getting up onto the ridge, delayed by deep snow and then a very big cornice that we basically had to cut through from below. Met some guys who we'd seen at the start, who were travelling E > W, who said they'd been surprised by our slow progress when we saw them again on the ridge, and then when they realised what we had been contending with, they understood. Next time, I shall complete from the E end.spstrachanblank
