Only a minor top, but worth a detour! Geologically, you are standing on top of a buried landscape of Lewisian Gneiss, on top of which was deposited 800 million years ago sand of the Torridonian Sandstone of Slioch. Even better, the large boulder, presumably dumped here by a glacier, at the highest point is made of Cambrian Pipe Rock, with the white circular markings on top of the boulder being the filled vertical burrows of worms. | BrianMatthews | 12/07/2017 |
For what it's worth my wee GPS gave 27m drop too in very settled weather . Circuit from Kinlochewe . | chalky1953 | 06/05/2017 |
Not sure this would survive a survey. GPS p27, doesn't look or feel prominent enough. Nice though even on a damp windy day. 6 Slioch tops on a morning circuit from Incheril. Then worked ENE up steep ground to Sgurr Dubh's S spur and main route. | RHW | 17/06/2015 |
