path? what path? parked at hill walkers car park courtsey of estate up the main road to look for a gate into new deer fenced off area. frequently used mapping on phone to find where this missing path was. a very tefious path - disappearing and then re-appearing. w arbler cuckoo hindsVerySlowPlodder16/05/2023
From campsite at 902333 through pleasant woodland onto open hillside and top. Disappointed not to find path to Attadale. Some deertracks compensated but led eventually through felled plantations over river to road on north side of Glen Attadale near Strathan.lordtonult07/06/2022
From Gleann Udalain. Quick way to forest head, but and a big but... path that tracks below summit obliterated by felling works. Horrendous crossing out of wood. Attempted return via alternative path track/path to north, equally difficult to find path. Suggestion... go via Lochcarron...N.Morters13/05/2022
Cycled up Gleann Udalain forest road to current start of forestry operations at NG 906 333. Up through remaining trees to deer fence at Lochan Sgeireach, then easier ground to the summit.PeteN11/04/2022
Up from glean udalainn, forest operations in progress. Sign by forest where supposed path is, indicates that the associated timber is being auctioned June 2021, so would expect felling soon thereafter, and access impossible from this direction for a whileiainwalton06/06/2021
After Creag Mhor, cycled out the excellent track until it came to a burn. No sign of path marked on the map so turned north and walked up the burn and wide ride which meanders up hill. Eventually had to walk through the trees, quite open, until I reached the open hill about where the path should have been. From here straight up the ridge and along to the top. Tried to follow same route back through the trees but quite difficult to find the burn, luck the gps helped where there were breaks in the trees. Good cycle back 6kms to the car.Simon Winton19/03/2020
As Topographer 57, good forest road, animal tracks through trees, and up towards the summit. Primroses along the river banks magnificent. Mild and calm, good views, far hills a bit thin.iangalbraith21/04/2019
Like everyone else, I did not find the path on the way out, so had an unpleasantly squelchy bog trot up to the ruined deer fence before finding the path, but it's easy to follow the path home. To find the path on the way out, park just beyond the finger post (big car park), follow the signed path through the gate, go down the hill a bit to find the next finger post. The signed route goes steeply up the hill but it would be hard to find the path above, so follow the obvious, lower path 100m or so and head steeply up the next grassy valley (rough) along a very small stream, to a vague grassy path, becoming a proper path contouring below the end of the ridge; or continue until the next grassy valley, then steeply up to join the proper path directly. All is well until you come to an obvious grassy area with little craglets and a deep cut stream, where it might be hard to find the path, but it's there, honest, just keep high on the grass. Once across, the path up is obvious.Gill07/04/2019
From Attadale, via the anti-path. Anti-path because it is an ephemeral entity which appears and disappears. The three finger posts at the start set me off in the wrong direction, through gratuitous gritty mud, I would have been better going straight uphill and then contouring L to meet it. Each time it disappeared I adhered to it by taking the only remaining line when all other possible lines were eliminated as unlikely. Much easier to follow in descent, until near the bottom when, again, hard to follow. Done on the 8th consecutive day of snow-stripping double digit rain, in February - difficult to differentiate path from stream.Isbjorn20/02/2019
From the north. Faint path. Picked up the N Top on the way up. With Steve Lewis.jonglew11/09/2018
From Attadale walkers car park. Sign post to Gleann Udalain but gave up on path and went over North Top then on to summit. Returned by route of path shown on map but path really non existent until much lower down glen. Note that the gate at 863305 for the southern approach to this hill is currently padlocked.NormanW07/08/2018
Cycled up Glen Udalain as far as a stream crossing at 907334, then followed above the south-east bank of the stream up to and over a deer fence and onto the open hill.Topographer5706/06/2018

M Attadale. How to pick up path. Park at the top of the hill to W of Attadale. Drop few m back down hill to fingerpost. Follow track for few m to gate in fence. This opens. Turn L on rising contour. After initial heathery slopes where path is indistinct it is evident beyond first stream. You will also see the lower path at this point. (Or, once through gate, turn L and drop back down hill for 100m or so to a 2nd fingerpost. Path is again initially indistinct but can be located as described above after first burn). Path is good although not well used and follows line of least resistance. Good all the way to beautiful L na Gillean. Having said that, I missed it on the way up turning R beyond gate and following broken deer fence over a lochan studded landscape to 'ridge'. Nice route. L na G path easily picked up from summit by heading for L. Hot. Snipe, sea eagle, bl th diver. Great Skye views.Martin6613/05/2016
From the parking area just up forest track in Gleann Udalain. The going up the side of the stream was surprisingly good and easy. Route and write-up at: http://gayleybird.blogspot.co.uk/2016/05/carn-nan-iomairean-and-sgurr-airgid.htmlGayle13/05/2016
From west up Gleann Udalain. Able to drive part way, then forest track. The path shown on OS maps doesn't exist anywhere right through to Attadale so don't look for it. From just beyond the marked path follow the stream using animal tracks all way to deer fence. Ok beyond that. Pleasant cairned top with superb views.nordicstar06/02/2016
From Glen Udalain along the forest track under newly fallen trees. Found a good route up by the stream then over deer fence and across ok ground to top.jenx06/02/2016
Attadale, CnI N Top, Carn nan Iomairean, Stob Mam Attadail, Carn Allt na Bradh, Carn Loch an Droighinn, Stob Loch nam Forca & Meall Ruadh and back on the BDL track.jimbloomer20/11/2014
Amawearyone. from Attadale. The map shows a path that is obviously little used, probably partly because the start involves climbing a deer fence. better to use the entrance to farm and walk alongside road through two gates. I went over the north top and ended up on a switchback ridge. It might have been easier to drop back down to the path. That path is obvious in places and not in others. Good views.Martin R23/09/2014
Climbed from forest tracks through Gleann Udalain.Chris Peart06/05/2014
Intermittent path from the N, so wet underfoot was better keeping off it and slogging through grass/heather.AndrewFinnimore07/04/2014

I climbed from the west. Very awkward through the forest. Probably much better from the north.Lionel Bidwell24/08/2010
From the cycle track up Gleann Udalain onto almost non extant track but frozen solid ground.Eddie18/02/2006
From Attadale. Couldn't find start or stiles for either path shown on map leading south. Over deer fence. Colud not distinguish between stone runs in heather and a real path. Rain started and became torrential. Well above gorge above trees to find lochan in narrow defile. Down and up steeply looking for a second loch. Mist clammed down - vis 50m. Compass pointed to another large drop and to cairn after 3 hours! Too far east on way down to forest 1/2 m from track. Water everywhere. On arrival at E bank of stream it was obvious that I colud not cross. Down to its junction with River Attadale. Crossed the torrent on a hanging trunk under deer fence, hanging on with everything. Followed deer fence to road, climbed over again and to car - 6 1/2 hrs. A nightmare day. Beers and meal in Dornie Inn.arranc13/08/2005
