Logged Descriptions  (logged by 31 users)ByDate of Ascent
Parked at NH670510 then up the path between the fences. Worth carrying on the path until below the top as gorse/bracken amongst the trees if go in earlier. Quite tricky to go straight to the top from the NE - slippery moss overlying slabs of rock.StueyB11/02/2024
Short detour off John o'Groats Trail.David Bremner17/04/2023
I parked at NH672510 and walked up to Creag a' Chaisteil using fields then directly up to the summit, quite atmospheric with its crags and vegetationColin Crawford24/07/2022
Parked at Mains of Drynie crossroad, up track to SE then NE.iangalbraith08/06/2022
From NE. Left road at path up between fences starting at NH 6717 5097, then stile into woods at NH 6708 5071.Matt18/05/2022
Walk from Kilmuir road, then loop around Loch LundieCraigW30/05/2021
Parked near Viewfield on the Kilmuir road. Lovely path that leads N through the birch woods to near the summit. Various faint tracks can be used to gain the top. Also found the rivet on a boulder nearby.BigJ12/03/2021
As per Smudge's route - left bikes at new track entrance at road summit to NE, then gate into adjacent field leads to a pedestrian gate at the top then a stile into the wooded area. Vague footpath to small cleared area, possibly the iron age fort, at top of small rocky bluff. Adorned with bluebells on top, plus decent views.willyross18/05/2020
John O’ Groats Trail passes nearby if not over the hill. Parked at road summit to east and used path from stile into the wood and up to the fine summit. Highest boulder accessible thanks to broom replacing gorse. Returned to car and switched to bike for Taindore.fasgadh02/01/2020
Cycled in from the east.Track doesn't really exist and very grassy so pushed most of it.Frannibaggins08/09/2019
3 of 3: From gate on minor road at 674509ChrisR25/03/2019
From NH 6743 5096, Taindore Hill first then across to here. Rocky top covered in gorse and broom making it awkward to get onto the small summit boulder.jonglew22/12/2018

Parked at new track entrance at road summit to NE, then gate into adjacent field leads to a pedestrian gate at the top then a stile into the wooded area. Then some awkward gorse avoidance needed to navigate to dun HP.Smudge27/12/2017
From East after Taindore. Mapped track through garden, owner pointed me to stile on far side of pasture all very civilised. Two bonus benchmarks en route. NB doesn't work from west!RHW27/05/2016
