From Killilan car park, path up towards Coire Mor. Left track at a cairn to cross stream and angled up to ridge just west of summit. No problem but a better line, which I came down, would have been to continue further on path until just short of due North of summit.dickscroop04/04/2024
Sguman Coinntich & Faochaig from Kililian with John. Walked in along track alongside River Elchaig to the eastern end of Loch na Leitreach, then followed track North above Allt Domhain to where the track ended about 450m. Then aimed mostly north to summit of Foachaig. From there, descended down to join ridge to Sron na Gaoithe and followed it around to summit of Sguman Coinntich. Descened W and then N down to track beside All a Choire Mhoir and back down to Kililian. Total time: 7h 38min (including just under an hour spent on summits)mproudfoot16/09/2023

From Killilan car park with Dangerous Dave and John Rogerson. Footpath through the woods on north side of Allt a'Choire Mhor.Crossed the river about 966309 and headed to the summit. Cloud cleared! Returned via the bealach. About 7 miles.bolton17/07/2022

From Killilan. Up the signposted path from the hamlet. Heavier than expected overnight rain made crossing the stream tricky, eventually getting across at 390m asl after several attempts lower down. Zig zagged around the crags in hill fog until emerging on the vague ridge, picking up the faint path to the summit.Owen B21/06/2022

From Killilan. ACM track in good condition. Left it at about 400m at the request of stalkers and headed SW up onto the splendid west ridge. Clouds on the Munros to the east but otherwise summit view could not have been better.Topographer5711/10/2016

Park in the excellent parking area provided graciously by the Estate at NG 9402 3031. Walk up the tarmac road into Killilan. Just before you get to the bridge you can see a building with a prominent construction date (1933) on the front. Turn towards this and pass it to the right (building to your left) right up against the river. Continue following the now obvious track up through the woods and a couple of gates eventually leading out onto the open hillside. Join the vehicle track and keep left uphill at NG 9524 3054. Continue all the way up the track into the Coire until you reach approx 530M. You can now easily cross all the rivers where they come together. Climb up steep slopes, tending rightwards until you reach the ridge at approx NG 9723 3012. Follow the ridge easily to the impressively placed summit with oddly eroded trigpoint.geralddavison23/03/2015

Pete and I decided to walk to Aonach Buidhe bothy over this Ma and Faochaig. Is this the most remote building in GB? We were the first visitors to sign the book for 3 months, since a foot and mouth outbreak restricted much access (but prob. not here?). On the warmest day of the holiday- Hamish Brown would have complained- we were carrying our overnight stuff. The nice thing was we encountered lots of good Lepidoptera (as often,Small Pearl-bordered Fritillaries in the Kintail valleys) and dragonflies, also a Merlin. The top gave unfamiliar views, a long way from the Munros we usually climb.pwheeler23/05/2001

200-th anniversary of death of Robbie Burns. From Glen Elchaig. Siskin. Teased out path between buildings up through wood and steeply through bracken and plod steadily uphill to end of path. Over grassy steep bealach and clamber up on grassy rake through crags to undulating top and to crags and top at 11.25. 2 ravens.arranc21/07/1996

Solo. From Killilan. Walked up path close to Allt a’ Choire Mhòir and then up hillside to summit of Sgùman Còinntich then followed ridge to Sròn na Gaoithe and on to the summit of Faochaig. Went NE and then found a path which was followed roughly eastwards. There followed a stiff pull-up to the summit of Aonach Buidhe. Descended the SSW ridge to Iron Lodge. Met up with a friend and took turns with a cycle down to Killilan. Quite a long day. Weather good.pwbellarby07/05/1994
