From layby on east side of Cannich village. 500m E along road, ATV track just east of bridge heads straight up and then through two gates/deer fences onto open ground. Eventually leave track and head north over moorland towards summit ridge. | benalder284 | 02/03/2024 |
Walked over frozen bog, south of the lochan, from Sgorr na Ruadhraich S Top. With Jill & Minto. | Dangerous Dave | 17/01/2024 |
Parked at the entrance to Craskie. Last of three | Andrew Simmons | 23/07/2023 |
Parked just over bridge (NH 3032 3376) in grounds of Craskie. No one to ask permission (7.15an Saturday) so left note in windscreen - no issues. Path north up side of forest currently very overgrown with high bracken. Going improved at 380m | carole engel | 08/07/2023 |
Wasn't comfortable parking at the entrance to Craskie and nearby verge parking looked too narrow and muddy. Found a large gravel area at 296338, from where after the long dry spell it was easy to ford the river and pick up the riverside track to Craskie. The stalkers path through the heather and bracken is rather overgrown, so left it at the 280m contour and headed NE towards the Craskie Burn, finding an easy spot to squeeze through the fence. Hints of a path to the col north of point 638, then easy going up the attractive west ridge to the summit. Retraced steps. | Owen B | 23/06/2023 |

From bridge east of Cannich Bridge traffic lights opposite Highland Retreats campsite. ATV track just east of bridge heads straight up – follow fenceline to gate then another ATV track to open gate through 2nd deer fence. Keep following ATV track and choose yr moment to break north towards summit. You can explore around on easy ground as much as you like. Sunny day, fantastic views in all directions inc Ben Nevis, Cairngorms, Kessock Bridge. With Rhona, Struie & Hoy. | DampandDusty | 26/02/2023 |
From Glen Strathfarrar, Pollcherian Bridge, good track becomes path through lovely pines. I took the fork south towards A' Mhaol indicated by wooden arrowed sign over the burn. Bridge over Allt Coire nam Brathan has gone but OK crossing place about 100m upstream, knee deep wade after heavy rain. Path joins ATV track, crosses shallower ford, then another ford. Left ATV track to cross Allt Coire Coille Leacainn, good deer track up through last trees, then OK going across open moor to cross to E of burn just below lochan. Up A' Mhaol, getting rougher as it steepens of course, then to Carn Gorm. A few yards of pleasant going near the top. Good views. | Gill | 03/10/2022 |
On route between Simms. | PGCE | 08/05/2022 |
Beautiful lead up through Caledonian forest. Once into open ground skirted round the bog staying close to the deer fence. Perfect view at the top but rain struck so for shelter used bothy bag - which was entertaining! followed round circuit returning down to forest. With Gmac x | elizyanne | 26/09/2021 |

From Craskie, went round to the west, onto track, round back of house and up side of burn. Note - house is offering Glamping pods, perhaps not so worried about passing walkers. Up to Cnoc na Moine, over deer fence, no gates or stiles anywhere, and onto atv track for about 1k. Easier going than the return close to the forest. Overcast and cold, windy, good views. | iangalbraith | 19/04/2021 |

from Craskie in Glen Cannich via Pt 638 | IanHHill | 20/09/2020 |
Part of a round of the Carn Gorm Simms from Glen Stathfarrar. Limited parking just beyond the footbridge at NH3302539650 which is well hidden from the road. The tracks marked on the map are helpful in places but completely indistinct for much of the time. | BaggerGutt | 26/07/2020 |
From Cannich: Sgurr na Ruadhraich South Top, Sgurr na Ruadhraich, Carn Gorm, Carn Cul-sgor. Easy going with good track for part of the way. Rain and low cloud. | RobertP | 30/05/2019 |

Started from Craskie, skirted the farm to the left and headed up the side of the forestry then headed for the cairn and on to spot height 638m then dropped down to the Lochan and up to the summit. Good views. | Nozzer | 01/06/2018 |

Parked at 29574/33765. Walked along road for about 0.7 km east to start at Craskie. Went to Sgorr na Diollaid first. After Carn Gorm returned to Craskie via 638m pt. | duchally | 21/10/2016 |
Via Muchrachd, Diollaid and a surprisingly dry 5km cross hike. Back over intervening sim, down to corner of pine forest, across the stream to avoid the worst of the bracken, down to Craslie then finally a pleasant track back up Glen Cannich. | Topographer57 | 20/09/2016 |

Started from Craskie, skirted the farm to the left and headed up easy if soggy slopes to the stock fence. Then struck up to point 618m then dropped down to the Lochan and up to the summit.

Revisited with a sub and 5 SIMs from Craskie: summit 5 of 6. 1m boulder on E summit looks as high or higher (could be an illusion as background hills are higher). Ascent from Craskie, parked on verge a short way W of driveway. Path passes W of garden. Gate then good deer track leads up R to stream then up its W bank; OK heather higher up. | RHW | 26/07/2015 |
With Stephen after sorting others out on Strathfarrar transport. Decent path, not brilliant, up to east then along ridge and straight down. | SS | 25/06/2015 |

With Dave Roeder. Parked at Craskie (8:45). Skirted woodland on the W and then struck ENE (some ticks), passing through the col just N of the 638 hill and on to summit. Weather threatening but dry. Back by same route; finish 12:30 | dbb | 15/05/2015 |
From Craskie. Very cold despite sunshine between the snow shower squalls. Hard work in snow or was it easier than heather in hot weather as others seem to be complaining about. Navigating to the Sims added fun. | Martin R | 03/01/2015 |

W Jenx from Muchrachd track in Glen Cannich in steamy hot weather. Up rough ground to Diollard W top, then superb Diollard summit. On to Carn Gorm summit and two tops. Back down to Craskie via awful line in bracken and dense pine forest. Glad not ascending this way. Along pleasant old track to start and fine dip to cool off in river. | nordicstar | 12/08/2012 |

Parked just beyond the bridge to Craskie. Across the bridge around Craskie to an opening in stone wall and followed sheep paths steeply uphill by stream through deep bracken. Plague of flies in very hot conditions. Over a deer fence and a long steady plod up to stone man on horizon. Plod up over deer grass to west to a prominent top and around to flat dry bog grass down to a lochan. Left pack plod uphill around back and to top at 14.35. Mist across scene. 2 golden plovers. | arranc | 04/07/2006 |
