There's a woodland track of the west side of the Lairg - Tongue road parallel to this little hill with weirded sides but open top. Drove to just beyond level with top, found somewhere to turn round, then back level with the top that was 40 metres elevation higher. The density of the trees looked just likely to be beyond reasonable to get up through, so I abandoned. However as I drove back out there seemed to be a diagonal stretch with fairly open area right to best the top. Decided to risk it, so toggled up and hit up to the clear summit area. Counted 280 double paces ie approx 300metres and I was there. Result. | vegibagger | 25/09/2022 |
Parked in gateway to SE. Followed track NW for 750 m til NE of summit. Then crossed ditch to thrash/ pick our way SW uphill to summit through pathless forestry. Terrain underfoot of thick moss, heather, tree stumps and bog but only 100m or so. Ridge area levelish but mainly free of trees but HP indistinct - Abney used. Wild views. Returned same way. | Denise | 26/07/2022 |
NW along forest track until NE of summit. Cross wide wet ditch and pick our way without difficulty up through the pines, mossy ground with holes and rotting tree stumps; quite steep. Emerge through thinning trees onto open broad grassy ridge. Level ridge, high point un-marked at OS spot height. | RichardM | 26/07/2022 |
