| Parked at public road end near ford over river. Cycled to Carrol. Chatted to farmer / shepherd who confirmed that new forestry plantation had made ground very lumpy. Followed a track to near new hydro turbine house, then turned northward over a high gate towards a track which courses west of hill, then up steepish slopes with heather and lumpy ground to top of Carrol Rock. Onwards west to Gilbert's Hill, then downhill south to new hydro track (visible on Google Earth) which leads back to Carrol. | willyross | 14/07/2023 |
