Trail Run, cold windy, wet, boggyHuwel13/12/2020
Crap weather all over, so I nipped up the Moorfoot Hills south west of Penicuik to get three Donalds. Accessed from the Gladhouse Reservoir I walked through Moorfoot Farm and past the ruined Hirendean Castle to ascend into a bog as I missed the track which would have bypassed this. The first Donald was Blackhope Scar (651m) which is also classified as Graham, then south west through a windfarm to the featureless summit of Bowbeat Hill (626m). More bog followed once clear of the windfarm then the cairn and Trig point on top of Dundreich (622m), from which there were great views of the hills above Biggar, then north of the Pentland Hills and Edinburgh. There was strong south western wind making it very cool at times, but dry all day, 5:15hrs all in.chillyman828/10/2020
From Eddleston. Nice approach. Dundreich, Jeffries Corse, Across the bog and windfarm roads to Browbeat, then dropped down to forest tracks. Headed out via Cardon Law. With B and R.jenx08/10/2020

Fortunately, I was dropped off at the south side of Gladhouse Reservoir, the car park has not yet been reopened by the water company after COVID and also there were lots of “warning plague” messages (which I assume had been put up during the height of lockdown by the villagers) as you entered Moorfoot but all was well. Up to Blackhope Scar, shrouded in mist, and then through the windfarm (ignoring the “No unauthorised personnel” signs). Bowbeat Hill is pretty insignificant being right next to a wind turbine. By the time I got to Dundreich the cloud had gone and there were 360 degree views of Edinburgh, Fife and the Pentland hills.tsharp17/07/2020
From Westloch via Portmore ReservoirRobB26/11/2019

Parked by the church in Eddleston at 243472 - Up alongside wall & then track/tarmac road to Boreland - NE along track before heading up to gate at 260483 - Up track & then, keeping to left side of wall, well-used ATV track across W. flank of Brown Dod & up to the summit cairn. Continued to Bowbeat Hill. (S)gerrybowes19/03/2019
07.50 bus from Edinburgh to Eddleston. In bright sunshine with snow on the ground, up past the kirk and along to Boreland Farm. Across the field behind the farm diagonally uphill to gate by strip of forestry. Straight up by the trees to summit of Milky Law. Over to stone wall then followed this towards Brown Dod, taking track around to the east side. In the snow, unable to find direct path towards Dundreich marked on map so headed to top of Brown Dod and then direct to top of Dundreich. Came down via ATV track across spur, steep in parts, linking up with farm track to Boreland and then to Eddleston. An absolute treat!the pigguy 02/02/2019
Start of marked hill track above Boreland farm not immediately obvious (gate diagonally across field beyond trees).Tony S21/01/2019

Anticlockwise tour of 3 Donalds with Kirsty & Robert from Gladhouse; clear at top with excellent views.barnz4802/09/2018
From Gladhouse Res out to cottage and up Hirendean Hill. Very dry making going good to Blackhope Scar by fence from The Kipps. Then across to wind farm and Bowbeat Hill before taking atv track towards Dundreich (bit of heather bashing but not bad). Return by Jeffries Corse and good track to Gladhouse Cottage.SS08/07/2018
Small carpark (and nice campervan spot) by Gladhouse Reservoir. Good track south then up onto plateau. ATV track disappears leaving some tricky ground across to summit eg boggy, tussocky plus a few peat hags for added fun! Then over to Bowbeat.AndrewFinnimore20/02/2018

Solo;P at Moorfoot Farm, walking S on track E of River South Esk to end, then ascending zigzag track/atv path. Followed to end on ridge far too far S, 0.5 km from start of Wind Farm - way off planned route and had to go NW over boggy and rough terrain to reach trig on D. Retraced SE to windfarm track and continued round to Bowbeat Hill. Weather improved from high mist in morning to glimpses of sun in afternoon. First visit was solo on 02/01/2009.jacobus07/11/2017

Walk from Gladhouse Reservoir for a round to Blackhope Scar. Quite rough under foot in parts, windfarm tracks further round were helpful, but would rather not have the farms personally.nickywood104/05/2015
Walked up from Eddleston through Boreland Farm. A steep pull up quad tracks saw me on top. Stunning Views. Have wanted to do this hill for 50 years. Finally made it. Took in the Northshield Rings on the way back.BigJ15/03/2015
