From spot height 254 on minor road west of summit. Car park closed for forestry works, but could just squeeze one car into space opposite track. Track to unclear summit covered in brash from forestry works, but easy enough to pick a way through. | KeithByTheC | 26/11/2023 |

13.4 mile circular from car park near to summit. Following paths to Turville, then re-ascending Bald Hill from the east. We followed clearing in woods to very boring summit. Heading back to the car park afterwards. Surprisingly quiet for a Sunday on most of the paths around here except for the woods the summit is in which was quite busy. | DanTrig | 21/08/2022 |
The sort of summit that gives hill bagging a dodgy name. | summitter | 16/08/2022 |

From Cowleaze Wood Car Park. Misty rainy day very atmospheric in the woods. Visited the War memorial, High Point and the viewpoint on the opposite side of the road. | Jephcote83 | 23/12/2021 |
Parked at Cowleaze Wood Car Park. Did a 13km walk round Commonhill Wood and Charkley Shaw. Mediocre views. Most exciting view was sheep herding. Came back to discover my car had been broken into and contents stolen. A truly regrettable trip, that has probably put paid to my burgeoning ideas of hill bagging. | Merculean | 08/12/2021 |
Set off early for a long day in the saddle and the first of four county tops today. A woody location so not much of a view. | pclyndes | 11/06/2021 |
Circular walk starting and ending in Aston Rowat, first up Beacon Hill 255.7m crossed M40 using bridge, walked metaled road to Bald hill 257.2, then Shirburn Hill trig point then down to Ridgeway trail eastwards to complete loop. | Gareth1886 | 07/05/2021 |

Short stroll from the car park en route to a pub meet in Turville. Will have to return sometime to search for the elusive Chiltern gentian. | milimana | 08/08/2020 |
Pleasant enough stroll, clockwise along footpaths in Cowleaze Wood from car park of same name. Just 0.79km with only 12m of ascent so unsurprisingly a flat and indistinguishable summit feature. Plumped for area near HT electricity pole on or near 257m spot height.
Returned to van and drove 500m SW down road to bag trig pillar inside cow field west of road. | mntainman | 19/07/2020 |
Pleasant stroll through woods from car park. Found the memorial to WW2 Halifax crash, then on to discover the summit. On way home from Coventry with Geraldine. | Pete West | 05/07/2020 |

Worst mud we've had in a while, but also it's been raining almost non-stop for weeks and weeks. Would definitely like to come back to the area when it's a bit less sodden. HP is basically indistinguishable. | sjb | 23/11/2019 |
20km walk around Cowleaze Wood. | atreides7887 | 16/06/2019 |
A short walk from the car park to the junction by the telegraph poles. A good walk around to try and ensure got exactly the right point. A very popular spot with dog walkers. | andrewcoles | 02/06/2019 |
On own. Easy short walk from Cowleaze Wood car park to grassy open area at junction of paths with telegraph pole. Spotted a woodpecker high in the trees drumming and a red kite carrying a twig for nesting material. Very peaceful. | Beeliner | 22/03/2019 |
From the muddy and pot-holed CP along the muddy track. 15 minutes there and back. | Newton Maximus | 08/03/2019 |

A quick stop off on way home, gave us some fresh air. Walked up from Ridgeway path so that gave it a sense of hill! | nickywood1 | 22/11/2018 |
Solo. Parked in Cowleaze car park and went for a walk. Strolled around Aston Rowant nature reserve after finding the summit as I had new boots to break in. Another county top completed. | Buck | 29/09/2018 |
1st of 6 tops (5 tumps) today on Stage 6 of the Ridgeway with Lesley on a route from Watlington to Saunderton. Lesley waited on a concrete block while i headed up a track over the road and onto a woodland track to reach the summit area then did a circular to take in spot height and take another track round returning the same way. Lesley was ok because she was included in a film a guy was making about the Chiltern Hills. We headed over to Lewknor where I intended to carry on to Adwell Cop... | Dazingdale | 26/09/2018 |
