From CP to SE. Path from mast at NC 29319 40227carole engel04/09/2023
Parked at Lone road-end, track to mast and then sodden footpath NW along Leathad na Stioma and then up SE ridge to the summit, returning the same way. Very atmospheric in swirling cloud.benalder28412/11/2022

From SE initially up the Glen Stack track then cutting up the hillside when open hillside. Couldn't help but think as did Rob Woodall when he climbed it, of Robin Cook who died coming down it on 6th August 2005 aged 59. Suddenly got 4G Internet half way up and read up about him on Wiki. Poignant to read he was born 28th February a date indelibly etched as an anniversary each year. So it was on Robin's 24 the birthday that me and my dad both got shot and rather miraculously survived. You're sadly missed, Robin. A very principled man.vegibagger22/09/2022
From parking at NC296402, then track NW to mast (NC294402), followed trodden foottrack from the mast enclosure NW along Leathad na Stioma, briefly NE around the 551m spot height, across a col then up SE ridge of Ben Stack to the summit, returning same way (3h)kdbennett20/06/2022
From the car park at 297402. Solo climb in excellent conditions. Great views, easy dry going, no wind. Just over 3 hours return.bolton26/04/2022

From just north of Achfary on a well-trodden route. Fine day, fabulous views.Unhurried 4 hours 5 mins.David Bremner29/09/2020
From roadside hut near Loch Stack Lodge, then stalkers track to just past stream flowing into Loch na Seilge. Turn left uphill after this then follow path up to summit ridge. We failed to see mid parts of path and wandered too far southeast leading to a steep gully scramble which would have been risky in wet or ice. The path should be continued directly uphill, at NC2644342597 rather than drifting rightwards as we did. Great panoramas from top.willyross24/09/2020
With K on standard route from car park at Lone Track end. Another party of four also on hill.Ashley22/07/2020
Via south east ridge as the others. Sunny day, lots of snow on north face and summit.iangalbraith20/03/2020
Solo - during cottage stay up in Kinlochbervie. Clear day.mproudfoot28/11/2019
Parked in the car park at the beginning of the track to Airdachuilinn. Took the short track up to the aerial, then a faint boggy path up the south-east ridge all the way to the summit. Returned by outward route. With KM, JK and NP.Man of Kernow119/10/2019
Out and back from the south east. Roadside parking available without blocking passing places. Weather mixed but predominantly showers. With NP, MT, and JK.kenmorti19/10/2019
From S with K,M and J. 5 hrs. Occasional short views. Murky and damp, windy up top. Two others on hill. From S and back again.niallp19/10/2019
A short day before driving non stop down to Wolverhampton (apart from a couple of coffees and a re-fuelling. From some way N of Lone track end, cut up to ridge and on to top. Despite another depressing forecast it was quite pleasant to the summit with good views and even at top cloud came and went a bit. Rain all the way down confirmed I would be heading home. Rain absolutely belted down much of way to Glasgow and beyonddickscroop06/08/2019
Clockwise circuit from carpark. Up Strath Stack then up up to the ridge and back to carpark. Like others said, very, very windy. Although we did have lots of sun.KevPalmer23/06/2019
It is as good as it looks. Great views. Short narrow ridge. Climbed with GN from road to Nwtrimarc206/05/2019
From north of Achfary. Up the new track, then the faint path to the left of the rocky rib. Finally a clear day without haze, the best views of the week.Owen B26/04/2019
From car park at NC297402, walked down road to Achnary, along Strath Stack, then traversed Ben Stack from north-west to south-east. KeithByTheC21/04/2019

Straight up from the new CP just off the access trck to the new ( 2018 ) comms mast. Followed the Leathad na Stioma rock bands into the thick mist & went by way of pt 551 as a ref for a bearing. Incredibly windy on the top, rain on the way down.DanMaisieBex26/08/2018
There and back from the parking space at the end of the road to Lone, path distinct in places, otherwise I more or less followed the Leathad na Stioma. A super summit as you'd expect from a mountain that looks the perfect pyramid from so many places. 5 people, 2 dogs and a Ring Ouzel on summit. Good views on a mostly cloudy day, I'd have traversed from NW to SE had the weather forecast been better- rain the last 10 mins only.pwheeler20/05/2018
Out & Back from the parking space at the end of the road to Lone. On own.MorecambeMonkey10/05/2018
Usual ascent route. The track in has been improved somewhat up to the mast. From there its not so boggy to get on to the neighbouring knoll. Followed rib up in the wind. Summit cone was being battered by the winds. Very top was seriously unpleasant, could barely stand up. This coupled with the icy snow meant an extended stay was out of the question.stig_nest17/03/2018
Clear. 70mph wind?davechaffey16/11/2017
Very windy day. Yet some parts of the summit ridge were completely calm, though not the very top, where I almost had to crawl!! Views hazy, but most other hills clear [but sadly not Foinaven]IanHHill10/08/2017
From Strath Stack, through the woods and I just struck up the hill. At the col it was easy too pick up a footpath up the very steep ridge to the summit. Reversed route to descend.Peterb09/08/2017
From An Earachd on intermittent path. Steep but straightforward. Return same way and off to Oldshoremore for an afternoon on the beach!MichaelF23/05/2017
In extremely windy weather- had to crawl the last 200m to the cairn on all fours as gusts were vicious.NormanW15/05/2017
Cairngorm Weekend Meet at Naismith Hut, Elphin. Solo. North west approach, starting at NC265437 up track (OS 1:25,000 map shows this as a path). After crossing burn that flows into Loch na Seilge, took track that branches off SE, rising steeply. After track crosses burn higher up a rough path goes up beside a fence initially and leads eventually to the summit. Returned same way. Weather excellent.pwbellarby08/10/2016
Took the walk highlands suggested route, starting from the parking just north of Achfary, which apparently has a black phone box as it's on land owned by the same landowner for Westminster? http://www.undiscoveredscotland.co.uk/scourie/achfary/ It said 3.8km from the car park but avoiding the bogs and all the wee detours I think it was at least an 8km round trip, which took us just over 5 hours. We started on the wee track shown on the map and then found a small track which disappeared in places and roughly followed the Leathad na Stioma which has Gneiss ribs apparently! The first part wasn't too bad but the last 750 odd meters was a killer for Mrs TJR as it was very steep! During this section you gained height very quickly. It was all worth it as the weather was lovely and the views superb.thejackrustles02/10/2016

First hill of the week, a little snow on the top, excellent view. It has a funny top, split in two, one has the trig point the other has a weather station of some sorts on it. ideal place for a bit of shelter.tallblond31/03/2013
