There isn’t a CP at the nature reserve, just narrow verge parking, SO011969, and difficult turning at the road end. Initial RoW, NW, between the llyns, was a mudfestIsbjorn05/02/2024
Parked at start of track, followed right of way then veered up to a higher, better track along the ridge.iangalbraith15/08/2023
Usual ascent from roadside parking. Car still at summit. Mast is broken. A very different summit feature.KevPalmer13/06/2023
Parked on verge near nature reserve, up on FP to trig and then on to top with Land Rover and solar panel nearby. Great views on a clear day. my 600th Marilyn. Back down and on to Mynydd CerrigllwydionPeterD03/04/2023
Solo from verge near Llyn Mawr. After a heavy shower stopped I made a quick ascent but apparent no further rain imminent so leisurely exploration of summit crags. Landrover with solar panel and aerial still in situ near to summit.Nick Canute23/08/2022
Gmac parked van near the right of way. One and a half kilometre easy climb to the summit. Interesting rock formation on was up. Almost like a cart track marked on either side.elizyanne05/07/2022
Parking to the east on the road by Newhouse. Bridleway and field track to stile on ridge to Access Land. Beautiful ridge! High point north of trig by car! Solo.Dangerous Dave27/05/2022
As Peterb car with IT mast still there. Easy walking 2.6 miles round trip, 1hr, hardly any climbing but a really nice ridge.JulieB25/05/2022
I parked just off the road at 012 972 where there is room for 3 cars and then followed the farm trackand path to the knobbly summit. Fine far reaching views though I was surprised to see a vehicle with IT mast by the summit.Peterb23/10/2021

With Mrs T, and D. Parked on verge by nature reserve, picnic overlooking Llyn Mawr, then up. Sunny day with good views in all directions; Cadair Idris particularly striking to NW.huwthomas17/04/2021
Bike ride and short walks from Caersws: Bryn Amlwg, Garreg-hir, Mynydd Cerrigllwydion, Ddifed.Mark Jackson17/10/2020
I enjoyed this hill apart from the horribly muddy start , the track having had monsoon conditions and much farm traffic. Visited the trig on the way to the high point. It was wet .NormanW13/03/2020
From SE near Newhouse, bisecting the 2 Llyn’s via farm track then path to trig and summit just beyond.N.Morters17/01/2020

Fine spell of very early spring weather so I just had to take a day off and head up into the hills. Lovely area too to find some much needed peace and quiet.Alex C26/02/2019
2/6 Marilyn day. Ascent of Garreg-hir from the nature reserve. Over pasture and moorland. Threatening drizzle. 4.4km in 1 hour. (S)silveracorn_alan13/08/2018
Parked 012968 on side of road opposite gate to start walk up between lakes. Followed path to gate, mistakingly ended up on wrong side of fence but corrected on the way back down. Super windy at the top! Awesome views.Hippy7728/07/2018
Like others, from the Llyn Fawr NR car park. I took the bridleway to the N of the lake, over the fence at the start of the access land, then HP and trig. Almost trod on a fox- well startled- asleep or just sheltering in the sedges from the cold wind. Then back down the ridge and S of lake. Good access/ ROWs and an enjoyable hill.pwheeler05/02/2018
A nice walk by the usual route between the two lakes, the view sadly spoiled by a lump of grit in my eye.Gill02/11/2017
Walked up from Bronffynnon on the roads to the path between the two lakes. From their easy stroll up to the summit.garyhoney28/08/2017
What a lovely little hill. Little - only because there is not much uphill walking to do if you drive up to the nature reserve by the lakes, just a mile across a gorgeous green ridge with some rocky outcrop and gates and stiles, no BWF. Bagged the trig first before continuing up to the high point beyond.Father Ted20/08/2017
With W, swift ascent with rain looming via track/bridleway from public road to SE.steve_a03/06/2017

From lakes car park at 012968 were a sheep dog was guarding his sheep in the pen. He hadn't moved an inch when we returned from the fine hill top.mindlessflogger19/06/2015
With Jenx, 3/5 today on a great crisp clear day. Usual parking spot between the lakes. Room for several cars on verge. Easy walking, great views with exception of the increasing number of wind turbines in the area. Nice rocky outcrops on the ridge, visible from miles around - as we later saw.nordicstar13/12/2014

nice top - circular walk from the bwlchgigglejon04/08/2010
The nearest hill on any list near my caravan. We decided not to do the easy route up between the lakes and instead walked cross country. The paths were practical non-existant in places and newly built fence lines meant that i had some compass practice.Cap_Thunderbolt01/08/2010
Took the tour of nature reserve first before climbing this good hill in warm hazy sunshine.Dugswell224/04/2010
1.15 miles from the road each way. Lovely walk.clivevilla20/11/2009
