Space for a couple of cars at Pont Elen to SW. Mapped path to Llyn Conwy boathouse. Up to Pen y Bedw West Top and East Top.PGCE27/01/2024
From Pont Elen, rain and wet underfoot. Pen y Bedw West Top and East Top.RobertP28/03/2023
Round from Penmachno. Up road/track. ATV track from North to Foel Boeth summit. Down to where RoW crosses Nant Cor Lannau stream, then along RoW and over Bryniau Duon. Rough from there to top of Pen y Bedw W Top. Across to E Top. Down Llechwedd Oernant on rough ground with tussock, heather and bilberries. Tracks via Hafod Dwyryd to the start.Moorponder07/07/2022
4/4 Dewey day. An easy ascent of Foel Boeth from the entrance to the forestry track (SH 800 497) up the gravel lane to the ridge top, then via quad bike track right to the summit. The traverse from Foel Boeth to Pen y Bedw (E Top) was awful: wet, marshy, and tussocky, but at least no deep heather bash, as I had on the W top. From Pen y Bedw steeply down into the valley and through some horrible brambles to access the forest track. Thereon a simple walk back. Not my favourite hill at all, don't intend on returning to it. Good job the weather and views were splendid. A round trip of 10km with 420m ascent, taking a full 3 hours to complete.silveracorn_alan18/04/2022

Parked the car to the East at the road junction 76221 43705 and walked down the road to Llyn Dubach and using the track climbed Y Garnedd, continuing over to its North top and on to Lyln Bryn du to climb up Y Gamallt. From here I crossed rough ground to reach the minor road north of the car to find the foot path up to Llyn Conwy, before the building on its shores I followed the wall up to Pen y Bedw. From here the ground got rough and boggy over to Foel Boeth and dropping to the the track at the South end of Llyn Conwy following this to the road and back to the car. Fourteen mile in just over Seven hours.WAYNE ROWLETT19/03/2022

Pt. 486m > Pen y Bedw East Top > Pen y Bedw West Top from GR: SH 76541 45723. From the ruined building at Llyn Conwy take a diagonal line NE on a sheep trot to a point SSE of summit at SH 78461 46990 from where you can ascend grass to the summit, this avoids the worst of the heather bashing. Descent from Pen y Bedw West Top cairn is deep heather but this way at least downhill.ronaldo33331/05/2021
Pt. 486m > Pen y Bedw East Top > Pen y Bedw West Top from GR: SH 76541 45723Hippster31/05/2021
From Pont Elen, clear sunshine, posts with path markers helped with finding the way across to Llyn Conwy. from the ruins a heather bash, took me longer than i thought it would, then west top and return.Rob5017/09/2020
With Rufus. Pen y Bedw East & West from Llyn Conwy track on B4407. Clockwise loop of the lake, hard work and mostly path less. Lots of bog, heather and tussocky ground and stream/bog between the E and S tips really difficult to navigate, best sticking to higher ground and probably a better experience from Penmachno. Excellent views of the Snowdon Horseshoe.jacobrichmond23/03/2020
Parked at 765457 as others. Sat in the car for an hour waiting for the rain to stop. It didn't so I trudged out anyway. Followed the path by the fence which turns 90 degrees left to a ladder stile. From there there was the occasional faint path but mostly heather bashing to Llyn Conwy then mostly pathless first to Pen y Bedw E. Top and then the W.Top. The brisk wind was behind me on the way out but once I turned round it was pretty unpleasant.clivevilla20/02/2019

From Penmachno up lane then track to wall at SH811 492 where faint track leads to Foel Boeth. After seeing bog made way to track above forest onto Bryniau Duon then onto Pen y Bedw East Top. Tip, return via ridge of hill,I didn't horrendous bog in valley.dgresty05/07/2017
Small parking area at 802496. After ascending Foel Boeth attempted to avoid the worst of the bogs, but the whole area to the SSW of Foel Boeth is a combination of bog, tussock grass & heather. Heading SW, picking up the RoW & then making a more direct ascent may have been a better option. (S)gerrybowes29/12/2016
3385 and 3386. Parked as MT Pont Elen. Strated following the fence easily then heather turned up. Couldn't find the path even with GPS with 1:50 on it. Did a heather bash to the Llyn finding some bits of paths but not much. Then followed a wall up and then across heather to 3386. Good little path half way to 3385 - then heather. Returned towards the house on the Llyn at the end of the 'path' then on leaving the Llyn managed to find the path which is narrow and not as it appears on the map - tends to be to the South. Managed to follow it to 771 461 a stile. If had continued following the original fence on the way up and followed it past the 90 degree bend it would have taken me to the stile - then approximately on bearing of 30 degrees would have found it with some difficulty.destaylor13/10/2015
Parked by entrance to water works. Bryn Mawr, Llechwedd Mawr, Pen y Bedw West Top , pen y Bedw East Top, Foel Boeth, Foel Dduijpowell25/09/2015
From above Penmachno up to Bryn Llech then across featureless grass to Foel Boeth. Tussocky grass, heather and sheep trods round to Brynlau Duon and on to Pen y Bedw East Top. Down to forest and back along track to car. Drizzle for an hour then dried out in warm cloudy conditions.SS04/07/2015
Parked by Pont Elen at SH 76535 45715 - there's room for two cars on grass by wall on east side of the road. Followed faint path east then north by fence to a stile. Then headed pathless through heather and bilberry over Bryn y Bedol to beautiful Llyn Conwy. Picked up path on northern side of the lake over stile. Then followed wall north to its highest point, followed by rough ascent to west top. Followed a narrow path east down to col and up pathless to east top. To descend I headed south, using various sheep tracks back to the lake and by shore to ruined cottage. Route back was much as my outward route, but ascended Pt.486m and found the path back to the south.Man of Kernow119/04/2014

Visited on round of Llyn Conwy Deweys. Clearly most people don't realise this is one as there is little sign that anybody has ever been there. No views as weather deteriorated.chriswatson17/07/2012
From Penmachno over Foel Boeth then descended over grass and heather SW skirting round edge of forest then up onto summit of Pen y Bedw. Decended NE to forest track back to car. SH/RO.wombourne26/01/2011
Start ~ 802497. Nice circular walk via Bryn Llech to Foel Boeth, then skirting the bogs to Bryniau Duon and finally Pen y Bedw. Return via forest tracks. With Wombourne & Ron.steve hudson26/01/2011
A return visit to Pen y Bedw to reach the true summit. Not very pleasant going, but much easier the second time round because I recalled the earlier problems (see my logs for 3386). What a splendid map of Africa Llyn Conwy (just south) creates!David Purchase22/03/2009
dullish heather summit, good view. via tk from S, keep E above llyn to avoid worst ground, quad tk beyond RHW19/09/2004
2.50pm -a challenging starting time in December for a horseshoe run over Foel Boeth and Pen y Bedw. (having been working on pre exp w/e)From N above Penmancho. Boggy and icy but magical clarity with a low sun in my eyes. Dusk gave a beautiful alpenglow. KIMM type horror underfoot of heather and tussocks then lovely 'twiggy' wood. for a 2 mile jog in the dark back along road- an outing that felt off the beaten track.Chris Pearson09/12/2001
