Cheeks Hill, Axe Edge Moor and Oliver's Hill Walk. Trip to Buxton with Simon Feb/Mar-24.dancingqueen10126/02/2024
On own. From small parking area on minor road by Dane Head. Moorland footpaths to Axe Edge Moor trig point > Axe Edge > Oliver Hill > Five Stones > Cheeks Hill > car park. Low cloud throughout walk and very wet underfoot.Beeliner30/01/2024
12.8 mile circular from Derbyshire Bridge car park. Up to Cat & Fiddle then following a permissive path into Chest Hollow. THIS PATH HAS BEEN CLOSED half way down the hollow so we had to follow trails to the road north. Not too hard. We followed the road to Bottom-of-the-Oven and up to the Macclesfield Forest taking the path over Buxtors Hill onto Shutlingsloe (4th time bagged), descending to Wildboarclough following moorland paths across to the lovely Three Shire Heads. We then followed sometimes boggy paths up to Axe Edge Moor (3rd time bagged) descending back to the car park. 757m ascent. Cold, sunny then cloudy conditions. A few people about. Nice views.DanTrig26/12/2023
