6 of 6: From Bad an Tuirc. Very windy on top. We headed down to Tarvie Loch and back via the new lodge to Dalnavaid. With Tim. | ChrisR | 20/11/2023 |
Tracks all the way from parking in old Straloch school playground. | willyross | 31/10/2023 |
From old primary school at Straloch. Track into hills anlong east side, continued round to the north past posh bothy (locked), wine glasses, and sheepskin covered benches. Track continues almost to summit, back more directly down the south heathery slopes. | N.Morters | 27/05/2023 |
parked at disused school in Starloch, followed edge of forest to open moor. | BLACKHILL | 16/04/2023 |
Exactly as per kdbennett. Foul awful wet day, really regretted doing it on such a day, because this is a cracking walk. Will return and do Bad an Tuirc this way so i can see where i was, cloud to road today. The school is closed, you can park there as well. | hils | 12/11/2021 |
Parked E of Straloch in layby at NO049638, walked to old primary school and took lane N from school, continuing on that to the wooden hut at NO034668, then SSW along ATV track onto ridge and S to summit, crossing all high points, return same way | kdbennett | 08/08/2021 |
From Bad an Tuirc, down to the col, then up over heather and blaeberry, past an interestingly tall narrow cairn, 2nd cairn and then the summit. Good viewpoint. | LizH | 27/06/2021 |
Up the track to Tarvie and past the rather smart new house, then after about 1/2 a km took the easy-going SE flank of Ben Skievie to is peak. NNE to Bad an Tuirc over pretty good terrain, then planned to do Meall Daimheidh but it was on fire! so headed over to Creag an t-Sithein, a rather heathery climb. Once beyond Carn Mor to its SE it was a really enjoyable ridge past the forested East slope, following a fence line until it reached a cliff face and its nesting kestrels. We managed to skirt around the steepest section to a phone mast, then a grass track took us over to the delightful Straloch Hill, before a walk along the road back to Tarvie. | summitter | 06/03/2021 |
Creag an t Sithein, Bad an Tuirc, & Ben Skievie from Tarvie. Hard going in soft snow but at least the ground well frozen. | daviemore | 06/01/2021 |
Round of 8 Simms from Straloch: Carn an t-Sionnaich, Carn Dearg North Top, Carn Dearg, Meall Ruigh Mor Thearlaich, Meall a' Choire Bhuidhe (fence can be followed from 1st summit to 5th summit except for Carn Dearg), Beinn a' Chruachain, Bad an Tuirc, Creag an t-Sithein. | PGCE | 21/07/2020 |

Then on to Bad an Tuirc | Simon Winton | 07/05/2020 |
From Dalnavaid via Gurlet, Crungie Clach, and Bad an Tuirc, glad of frozen ground. Descended to Tarvie. 14k. | NormanW | 10/01/2020 |
Second walk of the day, biked down from tent at head of Glen Fearnach and straight up and down, first along forest edge and then picked up a nice grassy track not marked on map (starting from the one that is)which took me all the way to the top. | dickscroop | 17/05/2019 |
9 top round from layby west of track to straloch house, straloch hill, creag an t sithein, bad an tuirc, cnoc dubh, crungie clach, crungie dubh, gurlet north top, gurlet, ben skievie, down track to tarvie to collect bike and short cycle back to the car. | robertphillips | 05/05/2019 |
Solo trip from Straloch where it is still possible to park at the old primary school. The SE ridge is a quick ascent, and an ATV track leads north and down to a hut where a wall crosses the Estate track at NO035669, which is a pleasant return route. | Invicta14 | 18/06/2018 |
Two day trip taking in Creag an t-Sithein, Bad an Tuirc, Carn Dubh, Ben Vuirich, Meall Daimheidh, Beinn a’ Chruachain, Creagan Uaine, Blar Achaidh and Creag Dubh-leitir from A924 at Straloch | hill walker | 18/05/2018 |
From Straloch, followed the edge of the forest up the SE ridge. Ground mostly dry and firm but above the top of the forestry the heather becomes long. | Topographer57 | 27/10/2017 |
Up and down from the north corner of the wood in Gleann Fearnach, NO 041 680. Boggy for first 500 metres then faint track from the lunch hut. All Three summit lumps. | Eddie | 28/08/2017 |
Parked along the minor road north of Straloch. Followed the line of the forest to near the top, which is a good viewpoint. | JohnW | 28/08/2015 |
