6th hill of 9 on a 20km linear route from Llanarmon yn-lal. After a well-earned but short break at Pen Llanerch, I dropped down to a track and this led to a gate and then I headed NW on a track to get to the open access land where a gate and path heads up this took me to the higher ground to the West. I dropped down and across just North of the fence and then headed up directly to the grassy top. Great views although the more interesting limestone outcrops seem to be to the western edge of the hill. Continuation North to Burley Hill...Dazingdale27/01/2024

Parked in space by stone building at WNW end of Eryrys- at SJ 198582. The walk to this hill felt like it was all on access land and it was easier to go directly up the S ridge than follow the RoWs. A delightful scene unfolded- limestone knolls and pavements- plenty of rock with springy turf between. Happy picnicers and walkers, about a dozen folk about. We could not resist going over all 3 knolls and down the S ridge of the W knoll exiting, by a stile (RoW) onto the lane 250m NW of the stone building. On to Pen Llanerch(qv). Sunny and mild. With brother, Pete.pwheeler23/03/2022

Having weighed up the weather forecast we ditched the Peak District and headed for the Clwydian range. 3 marilyns and 2 humps targeted.Theres a very usefully placed layby near Pen y Coed to the East. From there a short yomp up sheepie fields and past some mining relics led to an easy stroll up to the unmarked summit. For such a short walk the view is an absolute sensation. My oh my was it windy though.. Off to Clwyd Gate for Moel Gyw next.stig_nest24/01/2016

This is a lovely hill. This is my first recorded time up it. However, I've been coming to the area since the 1970s and stayed nearby and have records of going to 'Pothole Crags' which may have been what we used to call the hill in the old days.Alan Moore20/04/2013
