Planned to follow mae's route but the ground was so wet and ?changes- looked like a fence taken out, I walked along the road to a gate at NX 105356, up the pasture to a gate into the rough pasture accessed by mae's route. Here, floundering in mud and balancing on tussocks E of the HP I was wishing I'd stayed at the Mull of Galloway (qv). The summit area itself was pleasant, views all round good though the skies had turned grey. I decided to descent the N ridge and avoid the muddy morass round the top gate, easily over a broken wall, and down to the gate to the road. Good going back this way despite wet conditions everywhere in the area.pwheeler19/03/2024
From track end to SE.lordtonult21/09/2022
Park to SE. Through field of cows. Sheep and lambs at summit cairn.cjo03/05/2022
Note new car park to SE close to road up.Adrian25/10/2020
Followed mae's route from SE, parking at the end of the track. 2nd gate on the left off the track, to electric fence protected point (NX 10582 36069), where the wall is also easy to cross. Great views from the summit.LizH21/07/2020
Following a visit to Logan Botanical Gardens, short walk from the highpoint/track crossing to SE, parking enough for a car. Short walk over grassy fields (2 walls to cross), fine cairn. Sunny day.N.Morters23/07/2019
small rock outcrop with cairn within rough pasture area. just higher, apparently than Inshanks, from which we had come. Gorgeous sunny day.Denise 25/03/2018
Roughly direct route from Inshanks Fell over rough muddy cattle trashed ground and plenty of gorse. With TJ and AC.jonglew25/03/2018
Some wonderful views across to Antrim this morning. First Sunday after the clocks went forward and always a great day to spend out and about bagging.Alex C25/03/2018
From the ESE over fenced sheep pasture to hill top cattle pasture with thickets of gorse. Summit has conical cairn and remains of ancient higher cairn. More great views.RichardM25/03/2018
Finally... Back to rectify Sept faux pas....from SE but better from gate 300 metre west a bit to avoid wall climbingvegibagger23/03/2018
12th and penultimate hill of the day on a route from Little Pinminnoch to East Muntloch Croft B&B, climbing Knockteenan, Bailie Hill, Cairnmon Fell, Barnshangan Hill, Barscarrow Hill, Barnammon Hill, Soundly Hill, Largie Hill, Mount Sallie, Inchmulloch Fell and Barncorkrie Moor (visiting three of the highest knolls) descending by zigzagging through the gorse then profiling around to the SE before heading up North to the summit plateaux to avoid most of the cattle. Recorded summit as 170m. rocky outcrop @ NX 10256 36081 but also visited nearest outcrop and ground to cairn. Descent and onwards route to Inshanks Fell....Dazingdale06/10/2017
mae's route - wet, wet wet. Returned more directly via 2 gates.jimbloomer07/02/2017
Route as described by mae.RobertP21/12/2016
From the track in thick clagg following instructions by mae. Thank you Michael.Eddie18/09/2016
same route as mae parked track entrance.robertphillips07/08/2016
5th field on left over brow of hill on N/S track, then a tricky clamber over low point in cross wall (electric fence not working) and to top.arranc05/06/2016
Easy route as described by mae, nicer hill than Inshanks Fellalda04/06/2016
Followed N-S track from SE, then gate into second grazed field on left after track starts to descend, then to insulated section of electric fence at NX 10582 36069 near corner of same field, to reach unfenced ground near the summit.mae13/08/2015
Drummore - Inshanks Fell - Barncorkrie Moor - Cairn Fell - Drummore. Easy climb from the col with Barncorkrie Moor, bit trickier negotiating fences back to the minor road. By far the finest summit of the three visited though I thought Inshanks was a slightly better viewpoint.Jake99429/10/2014

Climbed from highpoint on road after visiting Inshanks Fell. from footpath to south over several fences. Didn't realise one was electric & got a shock! Pleasant summit with cairn & several other potential highpoints.citygent09/09/2013
W Insh fell from road, nr point. This highpoint definitely seems higher. Nice cairn w views up coast, rough ground chewed up bit by cattle. Beware many electric fences.nordicstar16/03/2013
Did this from the track that runs S to N. The problem is that a wall with an electrified wire needs to be crossed.there is a low point in the wall in the sixth field from the road.chrisbien10/04/2010
Visited after Inshanks Fell which I think is just a little lower on a grey morning with high cloud.Dugswell211/03/2010
