Parked at the end of the forest track to the SE. Jim's references very useful. An ATV track was obvious in the firebreak (from NG 8601 3097), so followed that zig zag track until out of the trees at NG8555 3094. Rough ground to the summit, but good views.LizH19/03/2024
It's as grim as others have suggested! Any descent SE now involves new plantation area so the more mature trees are probably the least bad option. Great view from open summit though.Tony S22/08/2021
Put off this hill for many years for a good reason. Followed Jim's route, which was effective but little to enjoy on the spongy lumps between the track and the summit.alda19/06/2019
From the forest road at NG 86393 30640 followed to NG 86013 30970 where a good forest break path heads W. Followed this in a reversed S shape to open ground (old felled forest) at NG 85545 30960. Then easy going to the summit. Came back the same way. 1hr 45min, 3.5 miles.Jim.Fothergill20/05/2019

From Auchentyre hill, rough going. Fortunatly a new hydro road makes easy going back to car on main road.cjo03/06/2017
Up from Stromeferry sta via Achmore over rough ground. Back down deer trods to Achmore for scholl bus to Strathcarron.Eddie23/02/2016
From lay-by near Pt.208. Forest track, ignoring GOML signs, till just past bend, then uphill through widely spaced trees to an easy break. Left for a short distance, then an old track takes you to the forest edge. Straightforward from forest edge to summit.mae22/06/2015

Parked at NG859297 and followed the fenceline along the forest up to the lochan. Very hard going on tussocks and heather in windy conditions.Up on to ridge to west of lochan and along to summit. Dropped my GPS for second time in three days!chriswatson21/03/2011
fine complex summit, fine view, irritating terrain from SE. from car pk to SE, keeping fairly high above burn to avoid deep vegetn RHW14/09/2003
