Warm with sunny spells and light winds. Had to park 1km west of Torrandubh Bridge due to roadworks. Up Beinn Liath Mhor Fannaich, Sgurr Mor, Meall nam Peithirean, Meall Gorm, Meall Gorm SE top, and An Coileachan. Once on the ridge the walking was absolutely superb. The rest of the walk was boggy and I was constantly harassed by Deer Keds and Horseflies. Time taken 8 hours 8 minutes for 17.33 miles and 4494 feet of ascent. | isabelle | 23/07/2024 |
Climbed up direct from Fannich Lodge following a cycle in from Grudie Bridge. 14 to go! | Rob Rees | 17/05/2024 |
Beinn Liath Mhor Fannaich, Sgurr Mor, Meall Gorm, An Coileachan. A cracking walk. The cloud was over the tops in the morning but gloriously clear in the afternoon. A glorious ridge walk. The last 2 or 3 miles were very boggy. | tsharp | 14/05/2024 |
Parked at Torrandhu Bridge and followed the Walkhighlands route with the additional descriptive narrative from Denise given on Beinn Liath Mhor. Creag Dhubh Fannaich, Beinn Liath Mhor, Sgurr Mor, Meall nam Peithirean, Meall Gorm main and SE Top, An Coilleachan and Meallan Buidhe. An excellent day with fine views. 2 of 3: From Meallan Buidhe and again on our return from Faire nam Fiadh. Good shelter below the summit crags for lunch on a windy day. No path discernible between Bealach Ban and Lochan Dubh a B.B. Took an east side ascent and west side descent. With Sam. | ChrisR | 30/10/2022 |
Weather fair. | MountainMac | 10/09/2022 |
Took my own route!
And went of too near rocks. Needed to be more left of North. | pigerg | 19/07/2022 |
Walk from Torrandhu Bridge (A835) via Loch Gorm. Deteriorating weather on summit of An Coileachan and descended back to Torrandhu Bridge. Returned to ascend Meall Gorm on 20/07/2022. | knarf | 16/07/2022 |

From West end of Loch Glascarnoch, Creag Dhubh Fannaich, Beinn Liath Mhor Fannaich, Sgurr Mor, Meall Gorm, Meall Gorm SE Top and An Coileachan. Clear sunny day with excellent visibility. | Lazylizzie | 03/06/2022 |
Eastern Fannichs with Matt, a little snow and great views. | tomd4 | 15/04/2022 |
I parked at a layby on the A832 just east of the Grudie hydro power plant, from where I cycled up to Fannich Lodge, roughly 7.5 mile cycle there and the same back, though most of the way back was downhill and the track was almost entirely surfaced.
Locking up the bike at the gates to the lodge, I hiked up the stalkers path to Meall Gorm (949m) a Munro, followed by its’ South East Munro Top (922m), then a mild dip and re-climb to the Munro of An Coileachan (924m). The descent SW from An Coileachan via a slightly steep pathless hillside, was more tiring than the ascent.
It serves me right for sleeping in the day before, but the weather wasn’t great, once above 800m there was the odd break, but the mist limited visibility to approx. 30m.
I had intended on doing these hills as part of the Sgurr Mor 4 in August 2020, but I had to pale due to a lack of water and I’ve planned to bag these two several times from south, but always found an excuse not too. | chillyman8 | 17/10/2021 |
Fannichs 9, hike 'n bike | Huwel | 22/05/2021 |
7/9 - rocky ascent from the north - found little water on the ridge - great viewpoint of the whole range and hills beyond | wychwood | 16/05/2021 |
Up and down from Loch Fannich, terrain reasonably benign, main aim Faire nam Fiadh but the Munro too close to ignore | Colin Crawford | 16/05/2021 |
A long day back up in the NW highlands with John and wee Islay hitting up the Eastern Fannichs - four munros over 16.5miles, and 1450m / 4750ft of ascent in just a smidge under 8 hours, followed by a 4.5hr drive home (with John handling the driving this time). The forecast was for clear visibility, but we ended up in the clouds for most of it, with strong winds resulting in -3C wind chill.. Winter is coming! | mproudfoot | 29/08/2020 |

With JW. From West end of Loch Glascarnoch, up Abhainn an Torrain Duibh to Creag Dhubh Fannaich, Beinn Liath Mhor Fannaich, Sgurr Mor, Meall Gorm, An Coileachan. Long descent with painful knee but good views! | robertgn | 08/01/2019 |
Climbed solo from A835 west of Loch Glascarnoch. Followed path on the West Bank of the Abhainn an Torrain Duibh (not marked on map). Ignore the track through the forest. Continue alongside Abhainn a Ghiuthais Li as far as the footbridge (also unmarked) at 252712. Ascended Meallan Buidhe (skirted summit), An Coileachan, Meall Gorm SE top and main top, Meall nam Peithirean, Sgurr Mor, Beinn Liath Mhor Fannaich. Return via Craig Dhubh Fannaich (summit skirted) and back alongside outward route. Excellent conditions. Fine walk but long and rough walk in/out. Luckily very dry conditions - bogs would hinder progress. | jamessteel100 | 24/07/2018 |

Last Munro of the day. Cool and sunny. Rested in the wee cave on the summit. Long arduous descent and eaten alive by wee black flies in the forest. | Play2End | 14/09/2014 |
1st of 7. Cycled into Fannich Lodge before taking stalker path onto hill, reasonable going but it does mean you'll be doubling up on some ground. | bowzi | 14/06/2014 |
