7+8/8 Ethel bagging day. Chelmorton Low + Sough Top from Chelmorton. Initially up Chelmorton Low over access land, then followed footpath east to the trig at Sough Top, returning by the same route in lovely evening sunshine.silveracorn_alan07/10/2024
Parked outside the Church Inn in Chelmorton, 5km out and back to Chelmorton Hill and sow top. Almost all on footpath. Just over an hour all in. Didn't hang around as the weather wasn't great!Nicky C07/05/2024
From road bend to NW along PRoWs Bull, cow and calves in the access land. Only low ruined wall between access and non-access land.JK24/11/2023

From Taddington on what turned out to be a nice day after a morning of rain: Chelmorton Low and Sough Top. After a weekend away at Crewe Hall.Lazylizzie06/08/2023

Solo from Chelmorton to Chelmorton Low then over to Sough Top and back to the village.Glenelg19/04/2023
Parked by Church Inn. Though gate to access land, bridleway going NW then farmer's track slanting back to just below the summit. From the HP a more obvious track went S, easy to zigzag down steep ground just above bridleway. Our luck with the showers ran out on this hill, which looked worth spending longer upon. Instead, we hurried down and enjoyed sitting by the stove in the inn with a super pint of Pedigree.pwheeler16/03/2023
From Topley pike lay by on the A6, a nineteen and half mile walk to reach four Ethel’s Chelmorton Low, Sough top (Taddington moor), Bole hill and Fin Cop returning via the Monsal trail.WAYNE ROWLETT12/02/2023

From plentiful parking at the junction of Senners Lane and the A5270. South along the bridleway for 100m, then a rising traverse to reach the summit without difficulty.Mark Jackson01/10/2022

Summit shared with large bull. Extensive and clear views.RichardM01/12/2020
As David Evans. Easy parking on Senners Lane at junction with A5270 at SK 1122 7095 - Over stile & along RoW to gate in corner of field - Through gate into access land & up over pasture to both tumuli. Lots of pats, but no cattle. (S)gerrybowes13/11/2020
Parked at end of the road to the south in Chelmorton, through the gate on to the steep hillside and straight up. Cattle at the top but they ran off when I got there. I thought we were going to have a stand off as they were on the summit to start with.clivevilla28/10/2020
From the RoW below. Walls are all tumbledown so no issues. Sheep on summit showed indifference to my presence. Amazing views from the top.Wheelsy12/08/2020
With Sal, nice spring day on way to Lakes for orienteering at Stickle Pikedavechaffey17/05/2019
Quick bag from Chelmorton, fairly steep pull up grass to summit tumuli. Earlier that day did a 8 mile walk re-bagging Black Edge and Combs Head. Afterwards bagged nearby Sough Top trig. High cloud and warmish all day.DanTrig08/04/2018
Mild and clear day for a steep walk to bag both tumuli after parking below the church.Dugswell211/01/2018
Good parking in Senners Lane SK 11229 70949. ROW to access land, then straight up to (both) summits. On return I had to vault over the field gate to avoid very frisky cattle.David Evans21/05/2017
20k romp up Chelmorton Low, Nether Low, along Deep Dale and up Cow Low. Along the beautiful Wye Dale and Chee Dale then up Priestcliffe Low and back to car on Old Coalpit Lane. Fantastic limestone scenery, with Mart.John Eley12/03/2017
Ample parking at entrance to Senner's Lane. Steep but straightforward. One bwf wf to cross but could have been avoided if I had taken the alternative path to the west.Campbell Singer14/12/2016
Straight up off ROW with easy parking on corner of A road to north west.Mark Sims21/02/2016
Easy parking alongside Chelmorton church (alt 1213ft). No difficulty with route finding .... just head upwards after the bridlegate! 0.55 miles return.moorsman29/01/2016
4/15 Fourth of fifteen on a wet and very windy day (Fir Hill/Foredales Head/Bee Low/Chelmorton Low/Nether Low/Dow Low (Brier Low)/High Wheeldon/Revidge/Merryton Low/Wolfscote Hill/Wetton Hill/High Edge/Upper Edge/Thirkelow Rocks/Sir William Hill)Fergalh29/11/2015
Parked by church in Chelmorton. LH of two gates onto access land. Fairly steep at first then long grass to couple of tumuli on top. The most easterly seemed highest. Presumably for World Cup, SW side of hill has ENGLAND and St George's flag (not at half-mast!) in 'White Horse' sized letters visible from miles away.Aye Jimmy22/06/2014
Parked SK112709 end of track next to stile.Anton19/02/2014
Branched off from the Pennine bridleway at Sk121705. Two bridleways a few metres apart converge near the church. A spring nearby Called Bank pit water gurgles merry. I took the gate onto access land next to large sycamore with rope atyre dangling. I followed the bridleway for about 100 m and then climbed straight to the top. TWO tumulii compete for the high ground. NICE views over Chelmorton and the limestone landscape.Dazingdale09/11/2013
Used to live in a caravan near here but never climbed it, so one day parked in the village and mooched to the top, where someone has since written ENGLAND in stones! Some nice mines, and apparently the dowsing is good amongst the tumuli.DanHolme26/04/2009
From Monyash via Flagg with a return along Highstool Lane. Highest point on a prominent east-west ridge.Jake99417/04/2006
Finished D of E work at Thorbridge so went bagging 400m tops around Buxton. Beautiful colours and light.Chris Pearson21/08/2003
