Arrived via Yr Elen (East Ridge). A scorching hot day. We saw very few people all day which was surprising. The descent to Bethesda was steep & reasonably difficulty free- but looking back at the descent Iíd not fancy it as a climb.stig_nest19/05/2024

Llech Ddu Spur scramble. Drove to Bethesda from WK and parked by school. Started walk approx 12noon. After leaving Gerlan we ploughed through bracken and broken walls at first then along the splendid Afon Llafar valley. Reached Llech Ddu and followed the UKH routecard print-out to start of the scramble. I found the scramble itself tricky in places for a Grade 1. We stuck to the ridge line throughout. From Dafydd summit we walked half-mile southwest then an unhurried descent on unpathed grass. Approx 7 miles with total ascent of 2,800 feet. Back at car about 8pm. Weather clear; calm in valley but breezy on the summit; very strong sun.Skip19/07/2020

A hot sunny and humid day giving superb views throughout the walk. With E from Gern Gif Isaf Farm (parking £2) up grassy paths as far as Pen yr Helgi Du then solo. E didnít fancy ridge and rock band and I think it was the sensible option - tough! Continued up to Carnedd Llywelyn, Carnedd Dafydd and Pen yr Ole Wen. Very steep and long descent to Afon Lloer and Glan Dena.Beeliner23/07/2019
