From the small parking area at the foot of the direct ascent of the west end of Rannerdale Knotts, along the ridge and then up the track to the top of Whiteless Pike, where the wind was still a gale and the mist was down. From Lanthwaite Green. 13 km, 930 m asc. Up over Whin Ben to Whiteside summit (West Top) and continuing over Whiteside East Top and Gasgale Crags to the summit of Hopegill Head. Down over Sand Hill to Coledale Hause and up S to the col between Crag Hill and Grasmoor. Up SE to Wandope summit and W to Thirdgill Head Man and then over Whiteless Edge to Whiteless Pike.
