Day 19/40 of my Wainwright Challenge linking all 214 Wainwrights in one walk taking 40 days to mark my 70th Birthday. Today, the classic Fairfield Horseshoe, with Charlie, starting in Grasmere and finishing in Ambleside, visiting Nab Scar, Heron Pike (both summits), Stone Arthur, Great Rigg, Fairfield, Hart Crag, Dove Crag, High Pike, and Low Pike. From A591, Grasmere. 11.5 km, 880 m asc. To Winterseeds and by Tongue Gill to Grisedale Hause and Grisedale Tarn outflow. E up to join the ridge at Deepdale Hause. S to Cofa Pike, Fairfield and Great Rigg summits. Down by Stone Arthur. Warm and clear then thunderbolts and lighting.

Planned to take in a few more Wainwrights but torrential rain stopped play so only two in the bag. Lovely views from the top of Stone Arthur.
