4/5 - found a break in the trees through to forest track - followed to summit (basically high point with a tree right on it) then continued down forest trackwychwood31/03/2024

From the lay by west of Dol-y-maen, walked up to said farm and used forest roads to the summit and then continued on to Mynydd maes-glas. Three hours for the Nine and half miles.WAYNE ROWLETT12/08/2023
Parked in layby on A458, straight up through forestry.Moorponder24/06/2023
Parked in the lay by on the A458. Walked along the road to Dol-y-Maen. Followed forest road to just short of Tir Rhiwiog, took right fork and easily got to edge of the forest then up by fence to Drum Ddu with its splendid cairn (best summit of the walk). Retraced route back to track junction and to summit tree of Tir Rhiwiog. Then down forest road to just past the gate, left along sheep trod until under summit of Cefn Brith Uchaf, then direct up to the top. Back to the forest road and down to the first bend, then down and crossed the stream, picking up a small trod contouring round and going much of the way to Foel Lluestbadion, from where easy ascent of the top could be made. Headed down, crossing to the road above the deepening valley. Right down the road to forest edge. Then up ATV track, picking up another one going through cut plantation nearly to the top of Mynydd Maes-Glas (Mynydd Clywedog). Now east, skirting round the top of the bog, then up the energy sapping heather silveracorn_alan13/04/2023
Revisit. #4 of 4 from SSE, Dol-y-Maen, on way back from Cefn Brith Uchaf. From my earlier log I visited the S summit last time - which still has the spot height on 50k map.RHW22/01/2023
Space for a car where Nant yr Onnog passes under road. Circuit of 6 Tumps. 2/6PGCE04/02/2022
From Dol y maen. Track starts to west of farm. Parked up the road at lay by. Suspect it could be a pleasant hill if it were not for the trees. Returned in the dark.Campbell Singer14/11/2021

Parked on tiniest bit of verge on minor road near Nant-yr-onog. Up track then north to Y Gribin. Good route. Long route NE then SE on mainly pathless rough moor to Foel Lluestbadion & Drum Ddu then SW to pick up track to Tir Rhiwiog. Cefn Brith Uchaf then more rough moor to Mynydd Maes-glas before returning north to West bound track back to start. Tough walking when not on tracks.ijpowell12/05/2017
Tir Rhiwiog, Drum Ddu, Foel Lluestbadlon, Cefn Brith Uchaf and Mynydd Maes-Glas from layby at 936139. Frisky cows with young calves on the first part of the track up and mostly pathless after Tir Rhiwiog but a glorious sunny day.clivevilla10/05/2017
Parked in layby on A458 at 936139 - Down road to Dol-y-maen & then up forest road to summit knoll - Continued to Mynydd Maes-glas. (S)gerrybowes11/02/2017
Parked in layby up from Dol-y-maen farm and walked down road to take track all the way to the summit of Tir Rhiwiog. From there track down through forest then over tough terrain to a rather lonely gate into the felled forestry area. Fairly straightforward hopping past small pond to summit of Mynydd Maes-glas after passing track. Then headed straight east to regain the track - detour to head of boggy area then clamber through heather and tussocks for easy descent on track.SS16/04/2016
Mynydd Maes-glas and Tir Rhiwiog from A458 layby, in fresh snow.rhalstead21/11/2015
Parked as others - excellent track all the way.destaylor05/03/2015
Parked in the layby on A458. Took track up from main road at approx 943136 making a circular trip of Tir Rhiwiog, Drum Ddu, Foel Lluestbadlon, Cefn Brith Uchaf and Mynydd Maes-glas. Only attempted because the poor conditions prevented me from heading up Aran Fawddwy.JohnStoneham11/11/2013
from Llanymawddwy via Cefn Brith Uchaf. then on to Drum Ddu. if you ever need proof that doing lists where height is the criteria is daft then this is a prime example. you see nowt - but other two mentioned tops are well worthy for the view.stig_nest10/08/2013
Started from SH92619 13651 followed stream to forest edge and them track goes very near summit. Then off to be the first here to get Drum Ddu which turned out to be more interesting than this one.Martin R02/01/2013
With MP and AJ. Parked in lay-by nr Dol-y-Maen Farm on A458 and took good forest track all the way to summit.Man of Kernow112/05/2012
Start ~ 913233. Done on a traverse between Bwlch y groes and the A458 at Nant-y-dugoed. Conifer forest, at last relief from heather and bog!steve hudson14/04/2010
