18.6 miles 4140ft walk, start at Tan-Y-Coed Forest carpark, to Tarren Y Gesail, Tarrenhendre, Mynydd Braich-Goch, Foel Y Geifr and Mynydd Rhyd-Galed.stephenbuda29/03/2024

Mynydd Braich - goch from GR: SH 73889 09198Hippster06/01/2024
Parked at the forest road entrance on the A487 (SH 740 089). Up to the 4th corner, then up sheep pasture to top left corner, over stile and along the ridge to Mynydd Braich-goch. Back along the ridge north fence corner. Down the rather rough ride to the forest track at .456 (SH 726 082). Beware the new quarry face at the bottom of the ride, avoid to the right. Then took the forest road heading west from the col, taking the second right (upwards slanting grass road) which emerges on the open fell at SH 715 082) directly below the summit Graig Goch. Down the nice grass road, turned off near the bottom to reconnect with outward forest road. 11.5km with 600m ascent, taking 4 hours.silveracorn_alan16/04/2023
With Rufus from Corris Uchaf. Parked at forest track entrance on A487 and walked up to the 4th switchback and gate into pasture as others have described. Walked to top left of pasture then followed ridge line to summit of Mynydd Braich-Goch. Simple navigation along ridge to summit of Tarren y Gesail before descending steep grass on left of fence directly N. Hopped a fence and an easy 100m to highest forest track on right. Forest tracks back to the road. Lovely first visit to the Tarren hills, frozen ground and amazing sunset over the Dyfi forest.jacobrichmond09/12/2022

As gerrybowes. Very easy to follow which I was thankful for as there was cold rain, wind, stinging snow and wet snow before I got into the cloud. 5.28 miles 1hour 47 mins.clivevilla16/01/2019
As gerrybowes. Could not park at the entrance to the forest road as it was busy with timber lorries coming and going. They gave me a friendly wave while I was hiking. Tricky to park on the main road, but found a spot at SH 74540 08844. Continued on to Tarren y Gesail. Solo.Man of Kernow120/03/2018

From car park south of Corris taking tracks and firebreaks to Mynydd Braich-goch. Along and down fence line through some felling to get to col above Coed Tyglas before taking track to close to Craig Goch (bwf to negotiate to get to summit). That bagged, came back to col then took track to high point and cut back to ridge and up to Tarren y Gesail. Returned by paths and tracks passing Cwn Cadian (owner pointed out path was not in use but was happy to let me push through - he wasn't joking - should take row at junction heading north east).SS14/05/2017
Descended from 3436 to Abergynolwyn. Drove around and parked easily at end of forestry road 7398 0899. Followed zig zag road then grass to summit.destaylor01/05/2015

It is just about possible to descend along the fence line (just NE of the summit) down Bryn Llwyd and then follow forest roads to Cwm Cadian and on to Pantperthog. BUT it's not a recommended route and should only be attempted by the experienced.Ianto&Sue16/02/2014
Start ~ 740090. Followed forestry track up to open hillside then climbed to ridge and left to summit. from ther to Graig Goch.steve hudson09/09/2009
Date is first visit. Notes from later...fine ridge from tarren y gesail, but access from W is problematic; easy grass from corris uchaf to NE. track E of abergynolwen, forest edge @ 697065 RHW10/05/1998
