A fine circuit of Llyn Fryddon Fawr from the cattle grid at SH 784 683, bagging 3 Deweys, and 5 Subs. A splendid walk with a feeling of wilderness. Mostly pathless, save a few sheep trods until a good quad bike track was encountered at Llyn Fryddon Fawr, which gave a quick way back. Nice and dry underfoot by keeping to the high points, and due to the dry summer. I suspect it would be hard wet work after a period of rain! Summits visited in order were Llan Ddu Fawr trig point, Trawsallt windshelter (and its wasp nest!), Llan Ddu Fawr, Bryn Dafydd, Domen Milwyn, Banc Hir, Geifas - West Top, Geifas, and Carreg Naw Llyn. A total of 19km with 600m ascent, taking a lengthy 6h 20m due to slow progress across the pathless moors.silveracorn_alan29/07/2022
Verge parking at the top of the lane leading down to the bridge leading to Cwm Milwyn. Fp for about 2 k then headed across moor to pronounced summit with large cairn. Track was very boggy higher up. Thickmist at top.Campbell Singer16/11/2021

From Cwmystwyth, via Pencraig farm. 5th of 8 hills in a circuit around Llyn Fyrddon Fawr. Mostly dry & pathless, a good day out.DanMaisieBex30/08/2021
Parked at the E end of the mines for a circuit of Geifas and Domen Milwy. Up via Ty-Mawr: track, then ATV track, then across rough and wet vegetation. Returned N via Banc Hir.PGCE12/08/2021
From the car park and picnic site near Rheadr Peirin watefall. Geifas, Domen Milwyn, Carreg Naw Llyn, Llan Ddu Fawr, Trawsallt. Return round the west of the forest.ijpowell08/07/2021
Tour of Deweys and subs from cattle grid .455 784683. trig point bearing from fence corner cant see the boundry stones, then Trawsallt visit cairn wind shelter and ring to north, then to Llan Ddu Fawr Marilyn, Bryn Dafydd made mistake trying for shortcut over bog should have kept to high points, across to Domen Milwyn using High Points, across to Gefais then Gefais west top, Banc Hir then did short cut back to Domen Milwyn which was not as wet as expected then to Llyn Fyrddon Fawr via pt 540 rings, to Carreg Naw Llyn, east across moor to Esgair Hengae return south to green laneunderhill01/12/2020
2/3 - from Llyn Teifi - dark now with low cloud - boggy between two summits, and rough terrain. Summit itself easy to locatewychwood31/12/2019
Parked by bridge at 813.748. Down track to Ty-Mawr, permissive path along riverside, rises to join bridleway into valley of Nant Milwyn. Domen Milwyn. Geifas. Fence to Grafia Elan. ATV track leads back through access land to T-MawrMoorponder16/07/2019
Second of three tops from a layby near the mines in Cwmystwyth up the bridleway/footpath over Banc Hir and onto Geifas, Domen Milwyn and Llan Ddu fawr before returning via the shoulder of Bryn Dafydd completely pathless even before Banc Hir and tussock grass everywhere a really tough walk in five hours.(tracker failed distance roughly nine mile)WAYNE ROWLETT13/04/2019
Plenty of space for 1 car alongside cinder farm track at 78943 73474 - Back down track to waymarked RoW - Followed RoW up Nant Milwyn valley to about 806726 - Left track & crossed BWF at broken stile, over Nant Milwyn & then a tussocky climb to cairn & nearby summit. Continued to Geifas. (S)gerrybowes15/12/2017
Walked up the Milwyn Valley from Cwmystyth, branching off to the Domen Milwyn, then across to Geifas and back over Banc Hir dropping down to the old track leading back to Esgair Milwyn. Superb walk, very rough terrain after Domen Milwyn but rewarded with stunning views up the Ystwyth Valley.Neolith08/07/2017
From end of Treifi Lakes road over to Claerddu bothy then just followed nose over Waun Claerddu (after bagging trig), Domen Milwyn (nice top) and then Geifas (tough going). Really hot day on totally pathless territory with plenty of sucking bog. Highlight is just the emptiness.SS17/06/2017
Parked in small pull in just down the side road at Cwmystwyth at 789738 and did a round on Banc Hir, Geifas West Top, Geifas, Domen Milwyn and Bryn Dafydd. Almost all pathless but the going was mostly reasonable. 2h40 - just over 7 miles.clivevilla24/04/2017

From Llan Ddu Fawr, reasonably easy going; a nice summitAlanD25/03/2016
Parked bit awkwardly at 7890 7372 immediately in front of footpath gate - other easy parking seems private. Good track then path - few tussocks for last bit but can be avoided. Great hill.destaylor27/07/2014
Climbed on walk from Teifi Pools to Cwmystwyth - a smashing summit.Chris Peart01/03/2014
After Geifas with detached sole, made climbing over fences particularly 'interesting'. Lots of fresh snow.Martin R10/02/2014
Start ~ 803745. Followed road down to Cwmystwyth, then turned left up valley passed Tynewydd farm and up paths onto the moorland. Great summit standing above the moor.steve hudson05/09/2012
