We did this before starting on the Humps around Llyn Brenig. It had by far the best views of the day and the only moorland summit. Someone else was there, clearly a keen photographer, inspired by a Hidden Wales TV programme about the now ruined lodge. Usual route from Sprtsman's Arms. With brother, Pete.pwheeler22/03/2022
Parked in the car park of the Sportsman's Arms, the highest pub in Wales. I didn't expect to see a peacock and peahen there. Up the track which then goes left to the summit by a rather eerie looking ruin.clivevilla02/11/2021

Parked by start of track next to the Sportsman's Arms - Along track to summit mound which lies about 30m NE of hunting lodge ruin. (S)gerrybowes26/05/2019
From Sportsman's Arms, just allowed to get that far, the A543 was closed further S. Seems the heatwave had softened the tarmac and attempted shifting of huge windfarm turbine loads had destroyed the road surface.Aye Jimmy26/06/2018

Plas Pren at the summit, apparently its haunted :o Me and Nia ran up and then ran back down, only about 10 minutes to the top from The Sportman Arms. Nia got a thorn in her finger though which needed to be taken care of.Rob-Nia10/04/2016
Weird. Old hunting lodge I'm told. Summit now within the walls of the lodge.alda16/11/2015

Parked in car park on south side of A543, just west of ex-Sportsmans Arms (SH 95111 58746). Walked back along road, then north on RoW by ex-Sportsmans Arms onto access land, then west following fence to summit. To vary return, followed track south-east to join RoW again.
