| Parked in wide entrance to an unmapped forest road (NX 4806 7089). Used the break opposite, not obvious to spot from the road. Lot of windthrow across the top compounded by new plantings. Went to the 165m spot height, clearly much lower. 2 potential HPs: grassy mound and cairn. The mound (NX 4825 7072) ~20m ENE of the cairn gave the higher elevation reading. | jonglew | 18/02/2021 |

| 3rd tump of 4 on a route from The Deer range visitor centre to Machermore castle climbing Brockloch hill and Craigdews then after the Grey Mares tail waterfalls exploration i walked beside the road on a parallel path before veering off on a track then climbing up onto the ridge that leads to Bar. Summit area has windfall trees complicating matters so that slowed me down. Moss covered cairn on one side but highest point recorded on grassy rise.
