| If you draw a straight line from Woodhead Hill to Marthrown Hill, then were the line crosses the forestry track between the two is pretty much where a footpath/bikepath takes you easily to the summit, avoiding forestry and felling until the very top. | Parked in the layby near Woodhead. Headed along the track towards but not as far as Lochaber Cottage, then freestyle up through pleasant and not very dense forestry after the wall. At the first path turned right along it for about 300m, then up the narrow but easy MTB trail to the devastated felled area at the top. Tramped around a bit and found the tree stump with the small cairn (barely a small pile of stones). Had a good look around and couldn't see anywhere higher. | Repeat w Jenx, park opp farm by letter box. Tracks to get into woods, when past the wall descending the hill take a bearing for the top and just go for it. Cross a track on the way, then continue into cleared area. Small cairn on a tree stump is the high point, several other possibles.
